some of our P3 girls are now taking round 2 GEP tests.

      curious …

is our GEP programme better than other schools (since pilot run in 1984, 27 years ago is a long time), or is it the same across the 9 GEP centres, standardized by MOE ?

you mean 247 required for minimum COP to enter HA P5(E, F), not 347 ? It's very high!

        how about for P3 entering P4(E, F) - also around 247 ?

        Sorry can't help u with the P3 info - I dun have the info. For P4 to P5, COP was 347, not 247, for 4 subjects. 86.75% overall to enter P5 E n F classes.

thanks for sharing.... that would be around 260 for PSLE.... even for those who cannot squeeze in to RGS will be able to go to NYGH, St Nic or other very good IP schools....

so long they have tried their very best and we as parents have also given our very best supports, we should feel proud of our dds results..... and not to forget to give her a Very BIG Hug....

:hi5: Agree with your comment. We are not going to love our DDs any less regardless of how well they do. Furthermore, our DDs are very lucky as RGPS has a very good school culture with quite a number of responsible teachers who have the girls' interest at heart.
Even last year, which I would consider to be one of the worst years ever, RGPS produced 110 scholars with 3A* or more. Amazing, huh.

                    a) based on 4 subjects (include Science) - if 347 is translated into say, around 260 COP thereabout, even if the child don't get into (E, F) class, our girls are still very bright, because their points are very, very close to one another.

                    example:
if a child score 258.8 COP and enter other classes apart from HA (E, F), still this is very high!

                    b) our P3 girls just sat for round 2 GEP test recently.
these parents don't worry. Judging from past historical trend observed in our school - usually our own girls have no problem filling up 1 GEP class on our own. We form 1 GEP class. But if that year cohort happen to be a year of bumper crop, more spill over & overflow into > 1 GEP class. The remaining places are offered to outsiders, transfered in at P4 Term 1.

and from the Top 1% (500 students) cohort in SG, usually more boys are offered GEP than girls. Out of 500 - on average, say approximately around 350 boys, 150 girls, thereabout.

                    c) orientation for P1 2012 new freshies is on ... 18 November (Friday).
