Hi, I donโt think tuition will help your girl enjoy Chinese more. For languages, its an ability to appreciate the language through reading. I think you should be looking at enrichment that focuses on appreciation instead of just drilling and making her memorise Chinese words for tingxie and tests. How about buying audio books for her to listen to? This will help her appreciate the story and language at the same time.

hmmm .... I do not think this is the right place for this thread.
Is the issue more towards Chinese in general or more on how NYPS teaches chinese?

Atan:
So even if the child does not have a Bronze, it is still not compulsory for him/her to take the lesson? That's a relief. My DS is in P3, so maybe I have the most updated info reg swimming
. For this year's P3, swimming is not compulsory but students can sign up for 'swim safer' course conducted at a venue in Bt Timah (cannot rem now) at a very low cost. One of my DS' classmate is attending but most kids did not sign up as they have at least a Bronze cert.
Thanks! -

Tankee, can this be parked under NYPS discussion? -

by and large most parents have no issue with the syllabus - it is not so much the NYPS syllabus, it is approved by SEAB, used by ALL schools in Singapore
I believe NYPS follows the MOE standard for SAP schools. However, NYPS may value-add by introducing more Chinese content as part of their cultural immersion. -
I'm thinking of either
if Chinese in general
