i heard something about … no more affliation from CHIJ primary TPY into CHIJ TYP secondary, because many students take for granted that they can just walk easily across to next door Secondary IJ TPY ?

is it implemented this year 2011, or next yr 2012 ?

Hi greenbean2011, I did not hear about what you heard. However, I was told that next year's cut off points for CHIJ schools on afflilation will be higher.

        Cheers!

I happened to meet my ex-Sec teacher from IJ TP. We talked about many things...some of the teachers who have but returned to teach part-time like Mr Teh, Mrs Ho for eg.
This thing about removing affiliation is a no-go thing...but raising the COP for CHIJ primary to secondary will be raised. A mummy mentioned the COP will take effect in 2012 if I'm not wrong.

The principal, Regina is an old girl of IJ TP...same goes for the principal of IJ TP primary, Mrs Tan.

            Hi all,

Firstly, i was just browsing through the net and I just wanted to search on CHIJ tp and stumbled upon this page, and to my horror, I see such negative comments on my school and of course being a current student in that school, I don't feel good when know that people out there are having such a mentality about my school. So, I would just like to start out by saying, I was from CHIJ OLGC in primary school and now I'm currently studying here in IJTP, and I can say that I don't think my school is bad at all. The teachers firstly, has been the most caring teachers I have ever had, they put in so much effort to motivate students in terms of studies. I have always hated studying and i just studied because my parents told me so, and after having joined Ijtp, i have been so motivated to study, without having my parents telling me to. I have also realized I've grown to be a woman of distinction, and not forgetting a more responsible person. There has been a lot of comments asking if parents should enroll their children in IJTP, and honestly, speaking from an ij girl's perspective, i feel so closely knitted to each and every student in ij. The ij spirit always lives on. And then again, if you would ask which is the best school you should enroll your child in, there is honestly no perfect school. How your child grows up to be is definitely up to him or herself. I can also say that ij is not a perfect school cause like i said, there is no perfect school in the world. The character and attitude of your child depends on how you teach them at home and also their environment. Teachers in the school can only do so much to help. Like my teacher always stresses, 'nobody can change you except you, youself.' So, just because there's a handful of ijtp girls behaving in a way that students should not behave, we shouldn't assume as if the whole entire school is the same. and also, for many years now, teachers, together with my principal and my vice principal has organised 'study night' for the Sec 4s and 5s which is a few days in a week at night where students come back to school and do revision of topics and subjs for the upcoming o levels. šŸ™‚ Thank you for reading this. I hope your negative mindset of this school will change because i dont want people to have the wrong impression of my school. Thank you once again šŸ˜„

Looking at the banding for this school, I thought it should be a good school. I know there will be some black sheeps in most schools, top or neighboring ones, but this school should not be that bad as some posters sounded to be?

Anyone who is in this school long enough or anyone who knows this school well able to provide more updates on this school please, especially on the part where teachers who are not equipped with the right knowledge or good in certain subjects? Thank you.

                  Quintessential Mum:

Educational Standard - Low as majority of the students are those who could not make it to other Sec schools so they are fed into the school. If you are a high achiever, you will not be challenged in terms of curriculum and teachers!
Not sure if it's true for all the other \"accusations\" especially the part on teachers' knowledge/teachings but if you are saying the standard is low, they had gotten a Band 2 for both their Express and Normal Stream which is quite good! :scratchhead:

Appreciate others who know about this school well kindly please shed some light on this school please? TIA.
