Public Transporation In Singapore
-
Recently , our trains service breakdown quite often and also encountered Security issues....
This is my thoughts as Singapore Population is booming fast....
I think our Public transport trains and buses services should not be run by only two Operaters SMRT and SBS....
This 2 operaters keep on saying it is so difficult to employ Drivers...blah...blah....
So if it so difficult, the Government should issue more licenses .....to create more competiton ....
If not SMRT and SBS always think they are big shots......Train breakdown...fine lor
Security Breach...fine lor.....
Keep on testing the Locals patient  .....if it is Oversea...I think the CEO would be Sack.....
Hello PAP...wake up!!!! -

I would prefer to see what is being improve, rather than just to see his photos appear again to show he is taking the public transport.
Give Mr. $$ (Lui) a chance lah. He's been in the ivory tower for too long already...
Maybe he's already formulating solutions in his mind while he's waiting :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah: -
no lah, dont think he has been in ivory tower for long. at least he is more hands on and keen to do something unlike many others.

hi hi,
for me, besides the care and convenience of those who need more assistance, am concern with the fact that parents are not allowed to bring unfolded/open prams on board buses.
yes, i agree that there are inconsiderate parents who ramp their prams onto others, or justblock the whole, walkways etc. however, that shouldn’t stop other considerate parents from using it?
those who hv voiced against it, hv theyconsidered the fact that tocarry a baby, or a sleepingtoddler, a bag, and pram singly is quite a balancing act that puts the parent andbaby at risk?
some may say, buy a car? which is really not easily affordable… take A cab! but, cab is not always the most convenient, and for someine like me who has more kids, soon iwould need to take, 2 cabs? and o jugle wih a baby is not easy.not to mention that sometimes u cn’t even book a cab successfully?
public transport isn’t it meant for all? incl. those less fortunate who need more help? unlike european c 'tries where the less abled and parent with prams are helped by the public and the bus /tram drivers, here, they are not even being helped many a times. even taxi drivers. how’s that for a gracious society?
just some ransom thoughts… -
There’s always many sides to anything. I’ve seen prams in MRT that are open - taking up a lot of space, and the baby/kid is NOT in the pram. But that’s MRT.
Anyway, buses have fairly narrow walkways. To have a pram that is open, would that not invite more trouble if pp have to squeeze past the pram to get to the end of the bus? -
with the giant prams most pp are using now, it is impossible to take it up the bus folded or unfolded cos of the narrow passageway.
boarding at the exit door is fine provided there is room for the parent to park the pram unfolded. -
It is seriously NOT CONVENIENT carrying prams onto the buses. I’ve carried folded strollers and it’s already very obstructing. Don’t expect to be able to ‘push’ them in there!

concern2:
better still drive the train personally to understand what 'technical fault' is about and how to cut down on the occurence  :evil:Oppsgal:

Meanwhile pick up some m.i.w along the way. Ie. if they are willing to travel like the 小人物.
