anyway from next year onwards, our kids' grade will be L1R5... that means at least one humanities is required for computation of score. my DD says that many of her friends are thinking of going for 2 sci and 2 humanities now...did your dd tell you anything like this?

wonder if there will be 13 triple sci classes next year....

yes, next yr onwards will change to L1R5, and promo criteria raised to GPA of 2.4.

this yr number of triple science classes is 10, not 13 leh .
yes, i also heard that this yr there is a high demand of choosing 2 sciences and 2 humanities
fr the sch poll, probably is becos of the change in L1B5.

alright, i have taken a look at the details of 2010 subject options results, summarised them as below :

1) 10 triple sciences classes, with subject combo of 3 S with geog, history or literature.
2) 1 class of double science, double humanities
3) 2 x 7 - units classes, the rest are 8 -units classes
4) 1 \"O\" level class
(the above are best to what my eyes can see.........manual sorting)

Does DHS moderate the pupils final marks? Pupils only know their final grade but not the marks right?

DS said this sec 2 cohort did v badly. Even pupils from 2K and 2L did badly. Some not even obtaining 2.8 to qualify for triple science. Last yr his friend’s GPA was 3.6 n now dropped to below 2.8.

Ur DD maintained her std or dropped? DS GPA dropped to ard 3.3. Is that considered above avg in DHS?

I think the student must have excellent CCA record, LCD grade and minimum GPA of 2.something. Then he can be considered.

He may be relatively good in other subjects..maybe A for maths and science and even HCL but just c5 for English...He deserves to be promoted, right? c5 is still a pass afterall.

so dun ever think of slacking and being complacent in an IP sch.....
even though DHS does not require a B for lang to be promoted,
still need to meet the min target of GPA 2.4.......
