Hi,

I would like to know for yr 1 Science, it is split into 3 subjects, chem, physics and bio, or it is still under one science subject ?

They will do General Science, Bio, Physic & Chem - one per term. EOY exam will covers all in one paper. ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks Tresille!
So I suppose they do not have any text book but notes from teachers?
They have 3 text books for Bio, Chem & Physics, however like all other subjects, they hardly use them in class. They were given handouts instead. My ds used them as reference. The only text book that is fully utilized is HCL :slapshead:

FYI..

In some Secondary Schools, Grade Point Averages are used. The Grade Point Average is calculated by taking the Grade Point of each subject, adding them together, then dividing the total by the amount of subjects the student takes. This value is rounded to two decimal places, giving the student's GPA. A minimum GPA of 2.0 will usually be required for promotion.

For example, the GPA table for Raffles Girls' School and Raffles Institution (Secondary) is as below:
Grade \tPercentage \tGrade Point
A+ --------\t80-100 --------\t4.0
A ------\t70-79 -------\t3.6
B+---- \t65-69 --------\t3.2
B -----\t60-64 -------\t2.8
C+ ----\t55-59 -------\t2.4
C -----\t50-54 -------\t2.0
D ------\t45-49 -------\t1.6
E ------\t40-44 -------\t1.2
F -----\t<40 ---------\t0.8

Not my credit, I got it from Wiki...very impressive that our full academic grading of Singapore is published there with top schools used as example...

Hi, I think I may have posted on the wrong thread but this thread seems to be more popularโ€ฆbut anyway, do anyone of you know what are the criteria for DSA to raffles band (year 5)? Has anyone you know of entered RJC symphonic band? What are the questions they asked, audition test(how is it like) and does syf medal matters or skill matters? Is it difficult to get into RJC band through DSA? Thanks a lotโ€ฆ
