Marriage Proposal - How was yours?

ya lor... I blur blur shared my story and tankee didn't share his.

I asked my husband to marry me.

And he said yes.
Then the next day we took his motorbike to the ROM to apply for a date to get married.
Then after a few days we got married.
The wedding rings were not ready at that time.
We exchanged our rings later in private, just the 2 of us.
There was no wedding ceremony, as i didn’t want it.
I find it a chore to attend people’s wedding so i did not want to burden them to attend mine.

A Vegas style marriage!
And yes, that was the closest we could get.
I imagined we were in a beetle convertible, driving up the hill to the ROM.
We could cos both our parents were not residing in Singapore at that time.
We told them that that we may celebrate our traditonal wedding when we get our flat. The flat took 2 years to materialize, and by that time, our No. 1 came along..........

Can you imagine if he had said 'No!'? I might not be able to take it actually.
After the 'yes', the rest of the plan was more like a dream come true.

DH went on his knees on stage, with a bouquet of flowers and a proposal ring, and asks me to marry him. All this happened with the Minister and 4 MPs standing on stage beside me, and hundreds of residents below the stage…it even came out in the newspaper front page and I turn superstar overnite.

wow !! really brave !! he must be very sure that you would say yes. Else the embrassment that he may have caused you if you are not ready to say yes would be totally unforgiveable.
