Fat Mama:
hi fat mama,Hi Augmum,
Does DHS moderate the pupils final marks? Pupils only know their final grade but not the marks right?
No, no moderation for final marks.
yes, only grades are stated.
gal was saying that they do reflect the EOY grades in the dossier (i can't remember whether is that so ??)Fat Mama:
ya, she said that too.....DS said this sec 2 cohort did v badly. Even pupils from 2K and 2L did badly. Some not even obtaining 2.8 to qualify for triple science. Last yr his friend's GPA was 3.6 n now dropped to below 2.8.
many were stoned there when they gotten back the scripts.
shall see how much is the drop for the top pupil in her class,
as for last yr, it was 3.87 (if i remember correctly). -

Hi augmum,
my girl has always been strong in her english so she is keen to take double sci and double humanities from day one. we are still contemplating but very likely will take this. she isnโt very strong in her mathsโฆ i am afraid physics will be tough for her too.
Yes, her History T has left.hewas rather inspiring to her class. she did pretty well for history. I wrote an email to her form teacher asking about maths. if the paper was tough etc but as usual, MOE teachers are very good at "taiji". avoided my question totally. Gal says that last yearโs maths paper was easier and that last yrโs cohort for IP2 seems to perform better than this current IP2 cohort. but i think it is unfair for us to keep comparing. the papers arenโt the same, the standard canโt be the same tooโฆ -

Oic....so yr gal will be taking 2 Science n 2 humanities......
As for my gal, she scored better in maths n science than in humanities,
so she is choosing triple science, though she dislikes physics...(think most girls prefer Bio to physics
)
Yes, dunno what 's wrong with some of the papers,
had been hearing pupils with A+ but getting a C or even a D......
Esp for Hist, seems that pupils under the marker were scoring well
while pupils who were not, suffered in grades....(coincidence or what??) -
wow....what a big jump in numbers !!! :yikes:
-
What big jump in numbers?
Do u mean O-level class pupils??? :gloomy: -
Fat Mama:
that's right.....quite an alarming figure :roll:What big jump in numbers?
Do u mean O-level class pupils??? :gloomy:
