Maybe the lack of eye exercise is the cause of myopia, need to frequently shift focus between near and far view, suppose that helps to relax the eyes. Heard looking at green trees also helps to prevent myopia. Not sure how true that is

I personnel feel that the flat we live in is getting darker. There is not enough sunlight inside the house, so children live like a \"mole\". As we know sunlight is good for vit E for eye. Our eye adapted to the environment we live.

Just want to remind parents: teach your kids to be careful around anyone holding pencils/pens/rulers/anything with a sharp point. Even a book held at a wrong angle can be dangerous.

Once, my DD waved a book about and suay-suay a corner of the book went right into my right eye when I bent my head near hers. I ended up seeing a GP AND going to the A&E. Turned out that there was a l-o-n-g laceration on the cornea - the pain was incredible. Even now, two years later, my right eye still smarts now and then and tears like mad when it’s dry/smoky/hazy. I think it has never fully recovered and probably never will.

Hello there, just brought my 4.5 yrs old girl to Gleneagles to see the Paediatric eye specialist yesterday since we suspected she has eyesight problems and outside optician oso confirmed she had myopia. Was so shocked to know that her degree is 400 and 325 respectively with astig of 50 and 75 deg....The dr immediately prescribe glasses and was told to get her to wear at all times except sleeping for 2 months and to go back for review..... 😢

Thot of buying the eye relax machine to help her and wondering whether anyone has good feedback?? Pls help!!!!

I experienced the eye pain too, and it is nothing to do with the degree. Finally I found out it is because of the brightness of the computer screen, please go and adjust it !

Many fcactors lead to the eye pain. You must pay more attention to control her watching TV and using computer time. Especially the child who has the myopia.

actually i feel children shd use some sort of ‘progressive’ lens since alot of time they are doing near work (homework, reading, computer) and do not need full correction.

                        Hi

Can you explain what is progressive lens and is it same as positive lense? Anyone experiencing improvement using this lens? Are these lens need prescription and where can get these lens?

Also, Guardian is selling the pinhole glasses and this type of glasses can be used to correct minor degree of myopia and astig. Anyone heard of it or tried using it?

Please advise as my children failed for eye test during 4 years old assessment and I am very worry about thier eye condition.
