      [Hi blurbee,

If you can try to locate teachers' production, that is a good guide. There are 2 books for lower and upp primary. Includes vocab like collective nouns. Shop that used to carry these publications closed down.

      Janet,

Do you mean by these group of authors?

Previously, when I saw a title on a school bklist and the publisher was Teacher's production, I thought it was compiled by the school's teacher. Today I found out I was mistaken :rotflmao:

          you're welcome.

I was curious, I have come across a number of schools using their materials.

Same here...I was also thinking how come the school teachers are so good (and free) to compile for the kids. :rotflmao:
My daughter's P1 booklist had the Stellar Handwriting Book 1 and son's school ever used Maths Process Skills in P3/4.

Back to grammar guide, I have both 'My Grammar Handbook' for lower primary and 'My Grammar Guide'. Very helpful.

              Hi BlurBee,
For English grammar, I am using the followings:-

              1)http://www.learners.com.sg/productdetail.aspx?id=252&cid=1 http://i51.tinypic.com/2pyzskg.gif\">
The above I use for my DD2 going P1 in 2012.

              2)http://www.learners.com.sg/productdetail.aspx?id=253&cid=1
              http://i52.tinypic.com/24xnaef.gif\">
The above I use for my DD1, P3 this year and will continue using it when she is P4 next year 😄

                Hi blurbee,

My daughter’s P1 booklist had the grammar guide (blue cover) which Champion posted. Think that book should be able to cover the basics till P3…bcos the yellow cover is meant for mid-pri to P6.

                  Hi

I chanced upon this in NLB. Borrowed and read thru…quite a good guide and I bought it from PageOne in the end.
                  It is:
Grammar girl-The Ultimate Writing guide for students

                      Hi Jeddamum,

Well, the best way to learn grammar is to read, read and read!

Tell your kids to read lot of books, it does not matter what it is (novel, english comics, news paper or magazines).

The more they read, the more sense of word usage, vocabulary they will gather. Just ensure that they refer to dictionary, the internet or ask you about anything interesting or new they learned.

My daughter who is primary 1 reads the rainbow magic books, horrible science books and other novels from the library. Even though these books are beyond her level, she enjoys reading them and asks me lot of questions about facts she read in books. We always have discussions during our lunch…or on the way to market etc…

I think DD is influenced by me. I myself read about 6 to 8 books every week.

Don’t worry, all kids catch with language, vocabulary and grammar use, its just matter of time.

Just encourage your kids to visit library more, go for book fairs together…and have fun

All the best to your kids…

and my boy will just skip words that he does not know the meaning...naughty boy. 😓
