Hi, my daughter is 4 years old next year but it would be better if I start looking around for her primary school. I am staying at Yew Tee area and the school within 2km is De La Salle, Unity and Yew Tee Primary School. Any recommendation who school should I look at? Based on acamedic ranking, Unity seems to be ranked highest. Pls advise.

Now Yew Tee primary is getting better in academic... I thought De la salle rank highest among this 3 schs?

If you are staying within 2 KM fr DLS, Unity and Yew Tee, you will not have any chance to get in via Phase 2C, unless you try to get in via P2B. Based on the balloting history, there wer balloting within 1KM via P2C for these 3 schools.

          Hi,

Actually, I am within 1km of unity and yew tee primary school and within 2km of de la salle. I also heard that Southview is one of the better schools within cck area. Should I PV for Southview instead and forgo the other 3 schools?

You can still keep your options open since your kid is just 4. And try to learn as much as you can about all these school in the next 2 years. You can try to PV for Southview but getting a PV chance at this school is not easy anymore. Also, if you are staying >1km from SV, 2B's chance is getting slimmer as the school reduces intake by 30 every yr. You can do PV in more than 1 school, fyi, and so it's a good chance to see the school for yourself that way.

                Hi…

Think… you need to call and check with the school when they start to ‘recruit’ the PV… as some schools start as early as 2years before the p1 registration start…

In terms of academic wise… I cannot comment much yet… but SV should be one of the best among all… beside YT and CCKPS…

                  Hi castle house,

Thks for reply 🙂 jus to check would u say tt cckps academicalluly wise is better than dls?? Cos can't help but notice u did not include dls in the 3 schools u mentioned 🙂

I would go enquire bout pv at the schools today.. Cos if it's 2yrs lik u say den I may b too late early..

Btw am I right to say pv will b more necessary at sv & dls cos it's easier to get into cckp base on past balloting history?? R we allowed to do pv at more than 1 school??

Also can anybody advise more bout pv at sv & dls?? Perhaps the selection & duties given & would it b difficult to get pv at dls if I'm not a catholic??

Sorry for having so manu questions & thks alot everyone 🙂

                    From SVPS Web Site:
Applications for parent volunteers for registration of children for admission to Primary 1 in 2014 will begin from 1 Apr 2012 till 30 Jun 2012.
SVPS took in 15 PVs last year and 10 this year so the chances are quite slim. Aside from PVs, the other route would be through volunteering as Grass Roots Leaders who will also be under the same phase as Parent Volunteers, i.e. Phase 2B.

Quite a number of schools went through balloting this year… think more Year 2005 bbs… not too sure in 2 years later… whether it will be so ‘hot’…

PV for CCKPS, YTPS and DLS… need to go through balloting…

SVPS… restricted the number of PVs they recruit… thus no balloting… which is quite fortunate…

There is no guaranteed a seat will be given even if you have completed the PV thingy… yes… you can do PV with a few schools… for better chances…
