Thanks everyone for your well-wishes. Iโve just been discharged on Sat but Baby still in NICU to ensure his lungs are ok and he can feed well before he can come home, hopefully on Tue. Meanwhile, Iโve been very busy pumping milk every 3 hours and trying to relax and slow down in the midst of my noisy household that has 3 kids running around.
I managed to buy my Ameda electric dual pump from Mumsfairy.com and other stuff and I must say that their service is excellent and prices are cheaper than retail. Free delivery also for the amount I spent. They rushed out the delivery for me when I told them I needed the pump urgently so that was very nice of them.
For most of my other stuff like strollers, car-seats, Iโve been buying from online forums like motherhood, mummysg, ebay, etc many 2nd hand but in good condition. Thereโre also lots of bargains for new stuff too that some mummies got as gifts but never used and you get a great discount. Some of these stuff come from "rich" people with 1 kid who canโt seem to "control" their children like getting them to sit in car seat and they give up after 6mths or canโt get their kid to sit in stroller so they also give up. So people like us with 4 kids and need to save every $ benefit from their lack of discipline lor. lol. -
Wow beanbear!!!
I just realized you have 4 sons. Must be noisy yet lively at home ....
How are the older ones reacting to the birth of DS4??
I have 2 boys myself. DH assures me that sons tend to be closer to their mummies and I will be always be the 'queen' of their hearts
He himself has 2 brothers and they are close to their mummies.
Glad you have been discharged. :xedfingers: that DS4 will be discharged on Tuesday .... -
Anyone knows where to get the LG or Playton playmat? Remember reading the news that the old ABC mats contain toxic and not safe to use. So better to invest in better materials. Problem is that I have not seen any of the "better" playmat on sale. Any idea where got? Thanks

I love Mothercare for those baby one-piece clothes and when older shop at Kiddy Palace! For cots, strollers and the rocking bed, we buy COMBI brand at the Baby Hypermart/Baby Kingdom at Kaki Bukit. We also got our car seats there! Car seats must go to the baby hypermart, there are lots of selections and prices are reasonable although I feel it is not cheap.Hi ladies,
Where did you go to buy your baby stuff? Furniture, strollers, car seats, clothes etc. My baby just uses his brothers' hand me downs (which were bought 7 years ago!) so I haven't had to buy that many baby stuff (only stuff like diapers etc.). But my friend is expecting and has asked me for advice on this. Not familiar with the market anymore. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
Thanks!
Especially for Baby Kingdom (the second one at Kaki Bukit) certainly not cheaper than in town perhaps because certain things are not so easily available in town shops too. eg. the Bumbu seat!
Carrefour at Suntec city also has a large section selling baby stuff.
Marina Square is also my favourite haunt because in there, there is a Kiddy Palace, Mothercare and John Little all within walking distance. Plenty of food choices too so it makes quite a good and convenient weekend out!

Hi beanbear,
Thanks for the tips, hope I can eventually use these channels to offload my stuff too! Time is a problem must take picture and post them up etc. Otherwise, I love selling off my unwanted stuff on the web. You get a lot more money compared to selling it off to garang guni or discard it which is such a waste. Can donate to charity too but sometimes you don't know whether they are being utilized or not! Selling it on the web is a win-win situation!

Are stuff cheaper here?
Hi buds,
Not necessarily cheaper. In fact when I went to Baby Kingdom, I got the feeling they are out to fleece you. Perhaps because they are so out of the way, they charge their goods higher price instead? At most expect the furniture items to be on par with Kiddy Palace after negotiating for a discount. Kiddy Palace I feel their prices are reasonable especially since their shops are usually in town areas and neighbourhood shopping malls. Possibly cheaper than Robinsons la if really want to compare!
Your BB must be very cute now!
(btw, what happen to your avatar?)
