It rained everyday when I went Taipei 2 weeks ago. But it was drizzling and was short-lived. The only time it rained heavily was when we were at Window on China. It rained quite long too. And the rides were all stopped becos of the rain. End up we didn't get to take any of the rides.
So, make sure to bring an umbrella or poncho with you wherever you go.
BTW, pls also get the free gift coupon from the Taiwan Tourism Board. I didn't get the coupons cos they told me it's only pineapple tarts and free admission to National Muesum. There is actually quite alot of items to choose from, from chocolates, plums and even magnets. Luckily, my hubby's friend has extra coupons and gave us 2. I redeemed the Assam Tea Chocolates which is worth more than S$10. And it's nice too. :please: -

Hi,
I stayed at Cosmos Hotel during my trip to Taipei, per night is about $122, including taxes but excluding breakfast. You have to pay more for breakfast. The hotel room was ok, clean and comfortable and it's near Taipei Main Station mrt, just 2 mins walk and it's sheltered all the way. The only thing is that they don't have Taiwan entertainment tv programs. But my colleague who stayed at cheaper hotel has it!!
There is another hotel nearby, slightly more expensive, is Caesar Park hotel. Think per night is almost $200. Hope this helps.

ZY Mom,
How was the temperature? I read in TA, some say very cold but others say very hot. I’m busy packing my luggage now, don’t know if it’s sufficient to pack some T-shirts + bermudas/shorts for day and jeans + jacket for night. Any advice? -

The temperature was around 25deg at night, not cold at all. But there was 2 weeks ago, now might be different. Think the jacket and jeans for night should be enough but it's best if you could bring extra clothing in case the weather changes drastically, get caught in rain, etc... and esp if you have children in tow... -
古宫博物馆
Does anyone want the tickets (4pcs) to the above mentioned place?
Pm if interested. -

Where to get these coupons? Where is the Taiwan Toursim Board located (in Taipei or Singapore)? What do you need to redeem the coupons - passports? airtickets?caroline3sg:
