if the paper clip is one of the parts that made up something … that ‘something’ would be a system not the paper clip … I hope I am right.


e.g a mechanical paper is made up of a different parts e.g. pencil lead, spring, plastic cap, plastic body part. these are parts of the systems that can be assembled to form a mechanical pencil (a non-living system) and this system is used to perform a task (write)

FT said both are systems .. but model answer from assessment book states these are not. So if exam has such questions, who should I follow ? :?

According to FT, plastic bag has 2 parts.. one is compartment & the other is handle.
For paper clip, we need 2 ends to clip a paper.

I thought for it to be called a system, we need at least 2 different ( physical ) parts .
