My boy’s classmate mum mention to my MIL that they will re-allocate class after the test…i also blur blur…

I think the mini test should be simple one like comprehension and reading skills. This will help to group the students according to their initial ability. When I saw the school average and the max/min scores of each subject from the report book after first semester, I realised that the distribution can be very wide. Therefore, IMHO, such grouping is good to ensure that the learning pace in each class can be tailored.
