You can buy a spray called Difflam Anti-inflammatory throat spray from the pharmacist.

If you want to take pipakao, drink water first. Then take the pippakao and gargle before swallowing. Do not drink any liquids after taking the pipakao for a while. Otherwise you wash away the pipakao.

          Not sure about honey, though.

same with Manuka Honey. Best is to let the undiluted honey linger around the throat area for a while.

I used to get frequent sore throats all year round until a few years ago, when I started to be more attentive about taking supplements & herbal remedies. Since then, my kids and I have been able to prevent mild sore throats from flaring up into serious ones.

The moment I’ve the slightest sore throat, I’ll take "Wellness Formula" & by Source Naturals with Zinc Lozenges also by wellness. Zinc is a great mineral for sore throats. Go to iherb.com to check out these 2 products - there’re a lot of testimonials about Wellness Formula. There’s also kids’ liquid version as well.

Now my whole family and friends have been able to recover quickly because of these 2 products. They’re most effective when you take them at the first signs of sore throat. Twice when I woke up with severe pain, I took a heavy dose of Wellness Formula and I was amazed that within one day, the sore throat was gone. Previously I would need antibiotics to recover.

I always cook Bitter gourd soup for my family if anyone has sore throat. Good for soothing the throat. Just buy one bitter gourd, then add a bit of salt, with the black beans and also pork.

                  Hi,
Do you mean you add black beans on the soup?

Down with sore throat for 7 weeks. Finally I took nan bei xing, and hey presto! it was gone in a day!

(But it could also be that it has run its course!)

Having a sore throat, especially for children, can be difficult. As a mum, I don’t want to see my child experiencing pain. Good thing we have an ENT doctor who’s very reliable. My daughter experienced a sore throat, and we consulted with Dr. Lau of ENT CC Lau. He managed to treat my daughter and also give us advice on what to do if it occurs again.
