      MummyThreeStreams:
I did. It always started at about 3months postpartum and lasted about 3 months. I didn't worry too much about it. Saw it as more of a cleaning problem (hairballs!) than health problem. What I understand is that during pregnancy, the hair that would normally be shed on a daily basis doesn't get shed (that's why pregnant women get thicker hair). But once the pregnancy hormones wear off, all that hair finally gets to be freed from the confines of your scalp. It looks like a lot coz it's a backlog of 9 months! But once your scalp has cleared it's backlog, then it's back to the normal hair cycle again. Try to think of it as your scalp clearing out the weeds to make way for new growth!

      Hi MummyThreeStreams,

      Thanks for your reply :hugs:

Yup, hair fall started when DS2 was 3 months. Okie, will take heed your words and ride it out then .....

          Hi mummies,

Am thinking of accompanying DH to China. He is going there for work purpose. I am not bringing my baby.

I understand there is some restrictions in transporting expressed milk via return flight.

Can any mummies share how did you deal with this situation when overseas. Do you throw away the expressed milk??? Seems like such a waste

          Any advice or suggestions???

            hi mummies,

I'm kinda new to this club. for previous preggies, only bf for a mth or two as need to work and also I suck at it!
now that I'm a sahm, trying to go all the way for my baby who is due in a few months! hoping to learn from you guys since I wasn't that successful previously... ESP. with pumping, super bad engorgement etc. thanks
            😉
            Hi veraclari,

            Welcome to the Club! :rahrah:
Yes, since you are now a sahm, there is no need to pump actually. For me, I did not pump the whole of 3 1/2 months I was on maternity leave at home with my 2nd baby. Baby cry, let him suck, cry, suck, cry suck... After one month, it stabilized and BB only need to drink once every 3-4 hourly. No need to use the chupee pacifier at all too.

Only started pumping after I went back to work when the breasts engorged after 4-5 hours. Even then, I only pump one time during lunch time to clear the morning build-up. In the evening, quickly rush home by 7 pm and feed BB to clear the afternoon build-up! Usually I feed him one side at about 7 pm and the other side when he was about to sleep at 8+ pm so that he will be full and will sleep through the night for at least 5 hours before waking up.

With my first BB, I found it so tough but yet persevered and lasted 10 months. For my 2nd BB, found it a lot easier and the breasts seems more \"efficient\" too. Hardly any blocked duct, engorgement etc. Once \"let-down\" most of the milk will flow and clear out. I use the Advent manual hand-pump which suits me very much.

            All the best to you!
            :hugs:

              Autumnbronze,

I’ve not travelled without my babies, but I understand from other mummies who travel for work, that there shouldn’t be a problem transporting breastmilk. Pack it in a fridge to go and just carry onboard. But of course, Chinese aviation rules may be different. Do call the airline and ask them about it, and see if you can make arrangements for your flight back.

Oh, autumnbronze, you can also transport the frozen EBM in your check-in luggage.
