on the flip side, perhaps the success rate of such marriage would be higher as there will be lower chance that the china girl being conned by the guy on his financial situation.
I think it is the other way round. After marriage, the China girl will probably change her mind after living in Singapore for a while and realising the financial situation of the guy is nowhere fantastic by Singapore standard. She will then get PR/citizenship and then divorce and look for #2 more financially solid one.
No. They are flying here, staying for 2 months to match-make. No way for the prospective guy to pretend his financial situation and mislead the girl.
2 months is better than the current 1-2 weeks that guys spent in China? -

more than 50 years ago, and earlier, so many immigrants from China came and settled in Singapore ...... any difference with all these 600 and more ?
Those immigrants come to Singapore to work to provide a better living for their families back home, and most came with the intention to return home one day. They worked hard, sent money home for their families and built schools etc. for their villages.
It is different now that these are coming to å±å¼āå¾å¤«ę»åæā. They are trying to \"leech\" on a man for their ticket to better life. I respect working to get a better life, but not the mentality of marrying a \"rich\" (by their standard) Singaporean man to get a better life. That kind of mentality :slapshead: :siao: -

Wonder which \"sensible\" man would want to marry a PRC woman within 3 months? No need to cultivate love & trust? Most importantly, the man will be marrying not only the woman, but most possibly her extended family & villagers too.
verykiasu2010:
Can translate pls?

marriage agency has 600 biodata of China girls target to get a singaporean husband within 3 months
i think now it is only 1-2 weeks. So 2-3 months is much improvement. -
getting our passport would definitely lead to something better in other countries.
but if there is demand, supply will always be there. -
Even among friends and relatives we have at least 10 PRC brides/mistresses.. ..
Unfortunately no nice story to relate yet.. ...besides the 'unofficial' ones hanging around we've got 600 more to deal with.. :yikes:
:faint:

Meet propective guys and ultimately, they will only see the same guy a handful of times before marriage. How are they to know the financial situation of the guy when they have no comparison (against Singapore \"daily\" standard of living)? I am sure the agency is not going to let them go with a few guys at any one time.
It is no doubt better than the current 1/2 weeks, but it will not solve the problem of comparison and change of heart in the long term after knowing the environment here. Unless the guy finds a rare gem like LOLmum's brother...... -
Hi tankee,
Agree not all are bad, just my luck not to know any yet de.. ...
My SIL created so much havoc in the household the last 14 years..
Think I more 'scared' than anything..
-
it is a business as far as the agency is concerned, just the same as maid agencies

Am reminded of Cao Zhi's poetic response to Cao Pi's challenge:

ēøē ä½å¤Ŗę„ļ¼
tsk tsk
why so much stereotyping n haste to criticize? haiz.
