hubby is a "snacker" and therefore so are the kids and we only cook on weekends yet my grocery bills can amount to approx $500 for 3A and 3C (5 & 7 years old)

Wow only for weekends, and its already $500! :faint: Though I'd have to agree snacks are expensive. that day my hb requested for Kettles potato chips. Usually $4.50 a pack, but bought cos its on sale at $3.40. But if buy a lot of these things, the budget will shot up for sure.

Mine family of 2A1C aged 9 is $400.

Weekends dine outside or at parent’s place.

Personally I feel safer shopping at supermarket esp for the seafood than at wet market. I ever brought 1 stalk of spring onion for $0.20 3 years back… kenna cut badly.

I realise that I cannot bring kids or hubby to supermarkets, will end up with additional expenses on Kettle/Lays, ice-cream, Kinderjoy x3, Chick-in-a-biscuit, fruit tree beverage x3, in addition to the usual milk/cheese. Sometimes, my girls would ask for a copy of the Winx Club mag ($6.90) which they don’t even read thereafter!!

Imp75, agree all these things really eat into the budget, and are not even proper food! I stopped buying fruit juices cos I realised it was expensive, just let the kids drink water!

might as well, fruit juices contain very high sugar content. no difference from soft drinks.
