...can't possibly buy a mountain of assessment books from BookFest...btw, it's not that cheap. Just a little bit cheaper to attract parents there. I rather buy from my usual place ie IMM where I know where the books are placed...furthermore there is 20%.

:hi5: Janet! Me am one that very :scared: of crowd and will \"get lost\" while \"rumbling\" thru the assessment books πŸ˜‰ Will most likely wait for the 20% Discount voucher and get my list of Books (p.s. have to control - just get 2 for EL, MT & Maths 1st  ) Science :scratchhead:

My first 'excursion' a few years ago.....very gong, see CHEAP-AH just grab & grab....I really did buy a mountain of assessment books from BookFest  . 2nd trip again.....and the 3rd. Back then, there's lot of $1/$2 books, think probably clearing off old editions, but I dunno mah.
Later discovered I had sooooooo many leftover tho my kids did A LOT in P1-P3. Also had books with almost identical contents, just different book covers :faint: So I WOKE-UP.

Started giving to relatives/neighbours/friends/salvation etc. Also realised it's QUALITY that counts.....not quantity. Now would look for the print date for newer versions too, but since newer versions == less discount == price @ BookFest quite similar to outlets liao.
Plus the scary crowd and distance, I have stopped for ~2 years liao.....shall also wait for the 20% (if I can control till then.....I already itchy-hand bought 4 assessment last week 😒 )

            Kekeke.....I'm always looking at NEXT year's assessment....whoahaha.
Wah....means come 1st Jan 2012 I gotta start looking for Sec 1 material??? BookFest have or not huh?? Just joking, no more BOOKFEST.

I think I better not read the Eng/Chin/Maths Assessment thread too much. Everytime I see any pic uploaded, I go ga-ga and tempted....... πŸ˜†

I nearly bought assessment bks too when I pop into Popular to get some stationery. Then i remembered my DH's words of wisdom, \"Do you need it now?\" So I stop heehee.

I was \"saved\" by him when I nearly bought the full series of assessment bks by a particular author. When he uttered those words, I changed my mind and just bought 2 heehee

I also saw that SHHK complied the tests and exams papers from schools under them into a bk. I nearly grabbed, then noticed that it's for P4 and P6 :rotflmao:

                    No of course πŸ˜‰
If like that, I also can blame
                    - govt for providing Lottery booth, Casino...so I gamble.
                    - Banks for giving credit card...so I spend
                    - McDonald for selling milk shake.... so I get fat.

Before you appeared.....I buy blindly :imcool:
After you starting loading pics, I buy with eyes wide-open :scared: but in equally scary manner.......cos' now, can 'justify' to hubby - this one recommended in KSP :rotflmao: So now it's INFORMED PURCHASE
But seriously, I need to top up during 20%....last time, DH wanna teach anything, on the spot I can pull out any type of assessment for him. For the 1st time last week, i actually told him I dun have anymore Eng Compre.....(but I end up buying 4 Chinese assessments πŸ˜“ )

But hey, must really thank you (and others too) for taking the effort to post the pics.....makes discussion a lot easier, no more guessing game. I used to get lost in the threads loh, me very visual.....

But seriously one can be very tempted when at Popular πŸ˜‰ ...I dare not look at the sales staff at JP Branch because they recognise me somehow! :nailbite:

For English Assessment, I will have to look thru this thread again to zoom in which are the ones I will buy for P4 DD1..But the following is definitely a must:-

                        HI Ladies,

QUALITY is very impt…esp from mid-upper primary…no point doing assessment which is not helpful or effective.

Any mummies here can recommend P6 Eng assessment books for Nov/Dec pls ? This son of mine definitely needs intensive drilling.
