My wife was certainly NOT active but we got our recommendation for Konghwa. I guess it has more to do with the competition for those referrals in a particular year than anything else. For Ai Tong and Tao Nan, I can imagine the competition to be greater than the other schools.xuanfam:
Hi
pls help. i understand earlier from a fren that you hv to be active in the Hokkien assoc before they would register the letter for enrollment to school. however now it seems to be based on years of tenure with them.. seems like i am late. my child is born in 2005 and if i would join now... would i be in a good stead for school like chongfu pri based on past record
tks much:)
As far as I know, SHHK tries to help as many parents as they could. I know many parents who only has 1 year with SHHK being recommended and thus able to apply for hot schools like Tao Nan, Nan Chiau.
So I think there is no harm trying to be a member now. At least you stand a chance to be in phase 2B rather than no chance at all. One tip : once you are in Huay Kuan , try to volunteer in their activities. At least the board sees your contribution and will try their best to help. Good luck !

tks for all your reply. will give it a thought. actually i hv registered PV for another school. So if i am shortlisted for that, i may not join HKK cos it seems uncertain…up to them to issue the letters…

hi xuanfam,
I've only heard of tenure criteria for Aitong (ie where demand was very high). Keep your options open cos even if you are PV of a school, you may end up not liking that school (happen to someone close to me, they found out that the school wasn't what they wanted).
Sorry, but I believe in leaving a 'hou lu'.
And if you are planning to join SHHK, do it fast. They only hold meetings once/twice a year and tenure is considered from there. -
Hi
Tks for your advice. do you know when is their meetings…
Ya, think i will just pay for it… -
hi xuanfam,
Not sure, you have to call the office to ask. Seeing this is Oct, I kinda suspect that next meeting would be in early next year. Understood that at most, they only have 2 such meetings in a year. -

Whichever method you adopt, as long as you are not in Phases 1 and 2A, please don't regard it as \"secure\" especially when you are talking about St. Hilda's. -
