Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion

There're only a handful who are enthusiastic and only a small portion of us in this forum, so very hard to find. Tried joining Shichida's parents volunteer group? I think the \"serious\" practicing parents are there.
Have a smooth delivery MieVee!MieVee:
You're too kind!
My baby #2's arriving in about 4 weeks, so we've sort of gotten everything needed. Haha, reliving the excitement again.
Yes, Shichida is not an easy discipline. But good things don't come easy! I was hoping to find some mummies here who are enthusiastic about Shichida so that we can support and motivate each other, but seems not many leh.
So far, I've a circle of 3 other parents really into right brain education. 2 from Shichida, 1 with Heguru & Tweedlewink. We exchange flashcards and materials to save each other's time. 5-year old daughter of one of them is showing very excellent output, so the effort certainly pays off.
During this pregnancy, there're days or weeks when I'm tired and don't feel like doing any home practice. After a break, I pick up momentum again cos son asks for his \"class\"! I'm glad he enjoys home practice so much.
If you've soft copy of homemade flashcards & materials, we can exchange too. Just drop me a mail at http://www.mummysreviews.com/contact-me/ -
MieVee, yes I do have a few friends who are very into home practice but we don’t swap that often (we tried to set up an arrangement but nobody followed through!). Oh well.

Someone must take the lead then, to keep the momentum going. That's why I prefer exchanging to uploading materials online. Exchanging keeps everyone accountable and on the ball.
Just contact the mums again to exchange. Sometimes we just get overwhelmed with other things.

Hi mummies,
my kids are in shichida too.
I would love to exchange home made practice materials.
I try to do home practise with them everyday. -

My boy attended Shichida classes since 14 months old. He loves it and we do home practice every weekday. Using the right brain to learn things at a young age is very effective indeed. That's why we've decided to homeschool through Kindergarten as well, and attend only Shichida once a week, and music class once a week.[Moderator's Note: Threads merged.]
Hi all,
I am keen to send my kids to learn at Shichida. Although at their preschool, they are doing spelling, simple dictation, maths, reading, I would like my kids to improve the use of their \"right brain\", just for enrichment
Does anyone have any comments about the results, effectiveness and what exactly are they going to learn about? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Before enrolling for the class, I didn't simply believe its claims. I asked around for testimonials from mums whose children have been with the method for at least a year. And checked online for more testimonials from mums' blogs, especially those who do home practice. The centers usually have a big file of parents' testimonials too.
After enrolling, understanding the method properly and practicing diligently, we're all happy with the method. Even hubby is very supportive because he's amazed at how fast and easily our little boy learns, while being happy, emotionally-sensitive (good EQ) and well-behaved.
The method firstly teaches the parent how to be a good parent, how to show love effectively to the child. Then the child will learn with ease and be well-behaved too.
I simply guided my boy to learn through fun and play using the method, without expecting any results. (If you expect to see results or try to test what the child knows, he'd be put off or frustrated.) His language, memory, singing skills are very good for a 2+ year old, at least in my eyes. My wish is for him to acquire skills for self-directed learning, then formal schooling in future would be easy and enjoyable, leaving him more time to enjoy his passion and do community work, etc. So far, the Shichida Method is bringing us there. -
Mievee, where are the Shicida schools? I’m also thinking of sending DD for Shicida classes but need to find out more abt it first…But DD is 4 yo, is it too late?
Btw, is the course very ex? Cos we are single-income family, got tight budget. -
i’m guilty… one of those mummies who is not actively doing home practice cos simply too tired to do so after work… however, i can see that my DS is progressing very well in terms of attention span as well as photographic memory based on the lessons… i would love to know more mummies and share ideas/tips!

Hi all. My dd has just started her 1st shichida lesson early last month. She is 26mo now. I do home practice with her since last week. My aim is to do it everyday. I bought a few sets of flashcards from tensai store. As as now I have only flashed cards to her. Would like to learn more from all parents here. I will try to do some flashcards this week. Can someone advise me what type of paper should i use

Hi mummies,
My 19 mths boy also attended e class about 6mths, but recently rest at half-way side due to other issue…so far since I let him join e class, I almost flash everyday, however not practice in other activities. As dot flash card, I think was still too hard to get him full attention on it, it made me frustrated. Any mummies have any good advice on Dot cards?
