Preparing kids for P5 in 2011

Flowermonaster:
Hi Flowermonaster,
Janet, have you seen the paper? Dont feel despair yet, still got 10mth before PSLE. Find out which area he is weak in & work on that. My DS is weak in cloze & Compreh. His compo is not good too but situational writing is ok. So I bought assessment book on cloze only & another on compreh only for him to practice. There r slight improvement this year. As for compo, I really don't know how to help only encourage him to write more, read more.janet_lee88:
Although I am giving him a break, I need to check out helpful titles for Eng soon, so that we can start work on 18/11.
I've yet to see the paper...but I know all subjects for upper primary is tough...big jump as compared to P3. So wait and see. Thanks for your kind advice :hugs: -
Janet, as fellow comrades, I’ll say just go and paint the town red. You need a break too ! The papers are all done so just analyse the papers and plan the revision steps. Meanwhile, don’t get burnt out…not only the kids, but ourselves. I am just going to chill-out … no filing, no Popular …just chill.
We need to rest our body and brain before the next long leg. -

Print out the papers, analyze and then sms the tutors to let them know.
I was totally burnt out 2 weekends ago...so guilty screaming at kids. But the recent weekend, I couldn't face anymore books nor coaching. So I told son to read whatever he can.
Yesterday, I worked up a sweat by tidying the house, vacuum house and clean carpet. -
Great to see we all are in the same boat. My dd’s SA2 is also going to finish today and it was really a crazy time. I don’t remember I put so much effort on my studies what I am putting for my dd. Now the tension start for the result.
Want to ask how r u planning for the Nov & Dec when there will be no school. Which are the areas we must prepare the kids for next year other than their weaker area. My dd’s weaker area is Maths and planning to practice her lot of problem sums. Any other suggestion. -
My DD is weak in Compre and Vocab cloze. Not sure how to help…any suggestions?
