I'm new to this forum and my daughter will be in P1 next year. Feeling excited and slightly concerned that there are no textbooks for English. Can other parents provide feedback on how are the English lessons taught and if it's doing the kids any good?
I also saw the last few posts about bullies, is that something I need to watch out for as well?

Sorry for asking so many questions, i'm inexperienced at this and hoping that I don't make too many errors along the way.

Maybe some other parents would like to comment as mine is already in P4 and P3. But I've a P1 next year :imcool: . So far they use Houghton Mifflin??? Not sure i spell correctly. It is phonics driven.

For bullies, they are everywhere.... just role play with the kids on how to handle bullies.

Was telling my P1 going dd that she don't have to worry about bullies. Just show them the mega sized kor kor and jie jie and bullies will back off. The basic thing I am teaching her is if your friend said something that gets on your nerve, you must ACT COOL. If you react strongly, they will disturb/ bully you more. So when you act cool, they will find you boring to bully and will back off. So she started practising this with her siblings when they irritate her.

Yes my P4 also got her paper 2 for EL and CL. Just wondering when will maths be out :xedfingers: For CL she is only missing oral results.

For my P3... no news.... I must enjoy today otherwise I will be :stompfeet: when I see my p3 results

My p3 said she got a bad news and a Gd news. Bad news is maths section b+c result :lightrod: ..... Gd news is her el p2 result

Hi 7788, I am hoping to find that too... as I am trying to fix a science tuition on thursday afternoon. Wondering if they need to stay back or not.

choo choo train - there is no class party or celebration. last day of school for p1 to p5 is usually prize-giving day. after the ceremony, the kids will go to their new class and meet their classmates whom they will be with for the following year if i am not wrong. for p6, the last day of sch will be graduation day which usually takes place one day after prize-giving day. not sure about the details for p6 as my kids have not reached that level yet.

My niece is in p5 this year and she has to stay back on every Monday and Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. They are doing English and Chinese on Monday and Maths and Science on Thursday. However, I'm not sure if there would be any changes next year.
