      Actually, the school does send the girls for Math Olympiad training. However, personally, I think the training is pretty useless. DD does not attend enrichment classes, so before the RGS Math tests, DH taught her himself using past years' SMOPS questions. You can download them from the Internet. Just google.

          I guess no harm trying the GAT first, if we can clear the first round, then worry about the rest then.
          Hi ASLMUM, How did yr girl find the maths and science xam papers this term, hear the average score for maths is 20 pretty low if that is true....btw is ur girl in E/F class?

            Initially, we just left the training to the school and all she had was a bronze in SMOPS. Thus, I conclude that as long as one has consistently good academic results and does well in the RGS tests, the DSA dream can be within reach.

                  Ya, heard from my DD that the average for maths very low. Fortunately she did pretty well for Maths...though can be better. Science has not returned yet, should be getting it back today....her teacher mentioned that Section B is very badly done. :heresmyfish:

                  Ya she's in 5E/F.
