      careless mistakes or foundation issue?

my boy got his lowest math score yet, but it is due to carelessness.
so he owe me a decent cup of ice-cream already. πŸ˜“

      see my reply to busymom.

DS has to wait till Christmas to open the box of LEGO that we have bought for him. He is not happy but accepted it

Same here, my DS did well for English so far.. ..could have been better if not for careless mistakes :nunchuk:
His daddy so thrilled.. ..Lego-ed him already..
Definitely a pleasant surprise, DS normally 'good' range only..
Hope the other subjects are 'pleasant surprises' too... πŸ˜„

i dont know the official results of my p3 girl but i heard of some marks already, she is all along the abv ave, starting to drop to band 2, tho high band 2 range but hard to tell for nx year. so i begin to think maybe that is her max calibre, tuition or no tuition wont make much diff???

          Happy enough.

2 areas of weakness was corrected in this exam, exhilarated.
One new area has surfaced but that is something to solve for next year.
Overall I am happily contented, especially after seeing the willingness to change the 2 areas of weakness.

i am weaning my boy off lego-buying cos we have tons of lego at home! and he only likes to build and don't destroy to replay. so this round, we bought a small gundam model for him to try out fixing over the holidays (we bought a tank model for him to fix after SA1 but he was not so keen as it involved using glue). πŸ˜„

That's fast for all SA papers to be back. When was the SA?

Your DS' school standard is probably very high to begin with. Probably should see how he compares with other schoolmates, right?

SA was last week and he got back the first paper last friday.

The points that he lost was :faint:

                  - like missing out the hypen in \"forty-eight\" and lost 2 marks
                  - \"6 motorcycles and cars\" interpreted as \"6 motorcycles and some cars\" and lost 4 marks

It happens (carelessness). As a student, we were at times careless during exams too. Don't be too hard on him. πŸ˜„

DD's last paper was today. Guess we will only know next week at the earliest. While she did well last term, her Math teacher had told the class that they were extremely careless in their Math paper... :xedfingers:

the fixed models are all over shelves collecting dust (difficult to wipe dust from the lego parts that are 'protruding dots') and inside their cupboard!

Very happy with my ds2 results. 3 subjects have improved tremendously compared to SA1. Or maybe he had done too badly for his SA1 (and hence the big improvement now) or the papers for SA2 are easier. Whatever the reasons, I am happy. πŸ•Ί

No plan to reward him yet. And he did not ask for any too. Kids are kids. They dont really care about results. When ds2 did not perform well for SA1, he is not particularly sad and this time when he did very well for this SA2, he is not particularly happy too. It's the parents. Haha..his good results for SA2 has made me happy for the past few days. πŸ™‚

So happy for you! :rahrah: As a parent, we are happy when kids result is good as it means they r doing fine in school so less worry. As long as there is improvement, I am happy no matter how little.
