Think these days kids attend a lot of enrichment/tuition on weekends.....so probably no time to cook?? -
I try to cook simple meal 3-4 days a week on week days. Weekend, didn’t cook due to tuitions, marketing and house cleaning.

We have home cooked meals everyday. Most times done by my helper. I will meddle in the kitchen only when there are some special requests or I am having guests over or when I want to try out some new recipes.
-
Everyday, for all meals. Unless going over to in-laws or going out.
I do the cooking. Sometimes helper does lunch if I am preoccupied with the kids.
One reason is because DH doesn't like to eat both meals outside.
I am a SAHM.

i try to cook lunch and dinner almost daily now except for sat(raining also must go to sister's house to eat) or the odd friday nite out with kids and i cry(99% of the time) when i cook.
sometimes cant tanhan, just throw a pizza into oven.
been cooking for 2 years and i can still burnt my food.......... :yikes: not as if i dont put my heart and soul into it, but really a 煮饭白痴. -
I cook almost everyday except Sat when DS insists on going out. I don’t have a helper so I do mostly simple dishes. Sometimes I will do one-dish meals like fried rice or beehoon. Still appreciated by DH coz he hates outside food.
I think it’s even more important to cook good nutritious food during exam period. Some parents eat out during exam period to focus on coaching the kids. It defeats the purpose if the kids fall sick due to the unhealthy outside food. -
those who cook 4days and more a week, do you plan your menu in advance?
or just wake up and see your mood when go market?
i find it difficult to vary the stuff that i cook! :stupid: -
Yup, the repertoire is about the same every week. There’s soup every day, 3 - 4 days will have rice and 3 dishes (三菜一汤) and 1 - 2 days will see my one-dish meals. Usually chicken/beef, vege, fish/tofu/egg and herbal/vege soup. I change the menu when I get inspired by Asian Food Channel. Usually I will also do a weekly special eg. curry chicken / stew (lor bak/ vinegar pork) which can last a few days.
I only plan the night before when I need to put the frozen meat to the refrigerator to thaw. If I get inspiration from a TV show, I might even go shopping spontaneously to get the ingredients to make the dish that night.
