hi 24hr-mum, i think you shd not give her the extra, since she may not appreciate it. Although I have a maid for only a month plus, I am tired of maids who are demanding and not appreciative. My maid has not been cleaning the floor under my sofa since she came (imagine one whole month and I know cos I saw bits of paper there throughout this one month). Finally i cannot tahan and told her to clean it as my son’s toys sometimes go under the sofa and he can use his hand to touch the floor. I have never told off my maid since she came, as I know that she is still missing her family and is new being an maid. Expectedly, she claimed she clean the floor everyday and I told her to put her hands on the floor and tell me what are these papers. The best part is she left me a note writing in bigger font and all cap: ‘I am sorry to disappoint you’. And then in smaller cap,

I will be leaving in 184 days or earlier if i can. ’ The 184 days is her total loan period you see. Sigh…my maid not only dont like to be told, she can ‘scold’ me back in her note…

I think you should just send her back to agency for transfer , and you get a new one.

            vivienpg,

ur maid seems immature. probably she is also proud. my maid wil prob just remove the sofa and clean the floor. that’s it.

the problem is i hv mixed feelings twd my maid. she has been doing well generally for past few yrs but starting to slacken. and if u know, its always the ending part of ur performance that pple remember. just like for celebrities. they alwayz hv star performance in earlier yrs but as they age and get into some nonsense, fans just get disgusted and turn away.

my elder gal today told me that when she fetched her from sch bus, she was chkg her hp facebook as she walked, one hand chkg fb, one hand open the gate to my hse. tho she hasnt progressed to plugging her hp during the day at work, i am amazed at her audacity to ‘officially’ use hp in front of my girl and me when i m at work, tho jus a short while and during the pockets of time…all big problems stem from small problems…

and since i nvr tell her off, she thot i m ok wif it but u see, i dont like to tell pple off cos firstly they blackface, secondly they wont listen nor change. its either u bear in mind and tahan or u send the person off. i nvr tell her the real reason for releasing her cos she is a very smart person who knows how to behave in front of who. eg if dh is ard, its different. before i released her, my elder gal even told me that she observed that auntie is different when talking to her daddy - will smile, say yes sir, and elaborate. for me, no response stimes. not even eye contact.

i m that sort that eg tho i dislike my mil, i had only confronted and quarrelled wf her once and it was explosive one during her 6 yrs stay at my hse. i m peacelovg by nature maybe bcos i m a libra, so if i ever throw temper, its time to 翻脸.
and i know i cant control my temper once if (ever) explodes…

just a poll, how many of ur maids ever buy things for your family using own money? like little treats?? my friend’s maid who stole her supplement actually ever buy icecream for her kids…unfortunately mine just bring some home made food when she returned from hm leave last time.

there was once she bought yakult and 100+ on her time off but when my elder gal took yakult (both me and my gal didnt know bought by maid cos i also gave maid money to buy lunch so i thot she use bal money to buy for my kids), my maid asked her: who buy one?? and she buy hairclip only for no 3 tho my elder girl also long hair

                24hr-mum,

my maid never buy things for my family. i wouldn’t expect her to anyway. When she started hooking up on FB, she got so addicted so couldn’t stop checking on it during working hours till i have to confiscate her phone and give her a stern warning.

i prefer them not to buy things for us. but once in a while, they bought things for my kids (nothing expensive).

i prefer they whipped up delicious treats for us even though i am paying for the stuff.

                    ur response??

actually i also dont expect my maid to buy anything for us, but if she ever buy, i dont want her to gv me problem by saying only some of my kids can eat, some cannot (favoritism), cos my kids wil think that anything in the fridge or in the hse is all bought by me and eat them accidentally.

imagine if i have two maids and i buy things only for 1 of them??

For my previous maids who left, i gave them extra in ang pows at the very last minute (one before left with agent and the other before she check in at the airport. They never questioned me on the extras.
