Stationery and School bags

I have seen a hello kitty ergo bag in kiddy palace. It’s like those Japanese school bags. Very fat but light. Stands on its own becoz it’s boxy. Not sure if they have other designs though.
-
the ergo bags I come across usually weighs above 800/900g or even more. I dun think there are very light and small ones. If there is, please share.
DS1 and DS2 have used SPI, Impact & Lego. Very sturdy but weighs alot with books. Sometimes, their bags with books/files weigh about 4-5kg!
Will try a normal, small and light backpack for DS3 going to P1 next year as he is very small sized. -

Can a normal small size bag put in the folders and big textbook? My boy also very small so very worried. So far those bags I saw all very big. Those non ergo bags are either too big or too small. Even the ergo bags, he can only take the smallest ones. Can’t even use impact or dr kong. -

I’ve now shortlisted spi active s and deuter genius s. Coz those also have the chest and waist straps, it helps to move the weight away. Do u have any sugg since u have used so many before? -
Hi Mashy,
My boy less than 16kg and almost 1.1m, so very small for his age. Dr Kong, Firefly and Lego too big for him.
Brought him to try the smallest impact bag…not light for his weight, cannot put in A4 folder & impact sales staff said it is actually too big for his size.
Kinderfun staff recommended smart-lite for his small size. Its weight is abt 800-900 plus grams according to the staff. I think the SPI active s is lighter if not wrong.
Between SPI active s and Deuter genius s, i personally prefer SPI active s cos it seems easily to put/take out books. DS1 used Deuter genius s when he was in P1.
I may buy SPI active s if only there is a good discount. Cos of limited choice for his size, I have bought a non ergo backpack which cannot stand on its own. But it is light, less than 400g and the big textbooks/folders can fit in the bag. Just hope it will last. I dun want to buy a expensive ergo bag which is good but too heavy for him with books/files. -

Hi Mashy,
Our kids are petite size…headache…
Even school uniform XS also cannot wear. So I had to get them altered cos made to measure, expensive.
Hi deardear07,
The last I checked - SPI active basic s - $129, SPI smart-lite - $109 & Impact IPEG-70 $89, prices before discount. Impact one cannot put A4 folder. Checked the Metro offer for Impact whether they have anything suitable for petite size.
