Hi there, it depends. The creative phrase kids learn in primary school can be adapted in secondary narrative writing. They have the option to do that or descriptive, argumentative or expository. So they need not discard what they have been learning in primary school when they enter secondary school.

          😄

          hquek:
I think they only do up to P6. If you are talking about writing, I thought that sec school writing style is different? Someone told me in P school, emphasis is on creative writing; but in S school, emphasis is changed to analytical as opposed to descriptive.

Sorry if not of help. 🙂

sorry but can someone enlighten me where are the exact locations of TAS? cos i went to the website, it’s quite ambiguous…

How long is one lesson? Do they focus on compo writing only? My friend’s kid went to JustEd, results are only so-so…

It is easier to PM them to fix an appointment as they are not opened most of the time. They are only around when there are classes.

The location in AMK is near the AMK hub, along the row of shophouses next to McDonalds (with Bata shoe shop at the corner). TAS is above a video shop Blue Max (I think). You cannot access from the front and can only access from the back staircase and you can see their banner put outside when they are around.

The location for the East is at SingPost centre at Paya Lebar MRT. It is rented classroom with some training centre and they do not have their reception at all. So best to call and I don’t think you can go down to enquire.

I have not been to the Bukit Timah location so cannot advise.

Lesson is 2 hours and cover all English syllabus. Depending on kid’s level, they may emphasize more on different section.

They do cover vocab once in a while and they will give out notes to go along which is very useful. They do cover quite a lot in 2 hours and vocab is something I feel that our kids also need to pick up on their own because there are just too many words to learn. But I heard they are coming out with a vocab book, perhaps then they might focus a bit more on vocab. Their vocab book should come with vocab notes that they used to have with their worksheets.

I see from DS1's worksheets that they do cover vocab, and at times punctuation also. But for the past month or so, they are concentrating more on SA2.

When closer to exams, how is it like, do they do mock papers? Or is it still 1 hr comp, and 1 hr for paper 2?

DS is with the P2s. for the past month or so, they did mock papers. There was still spelling. I understand last week they stopped doing the papers already.
