Renewal of contract without agent
-
711mum,
do note that renewing the Philippines passport is not as easy as compared to Indonasia’s. I just renewed my maid’s passport in June. After the application, we need to wait for at least 6-8 weeks for the passport to be ready. You must remember to buffer enough time for that before her work permit expires.
I engaged an agency to do the renewal for me as it’s too much of a hassle to do it on my own. The embassy issued abt 120 quota per day. Even I engaged agency’s help, my maid still need to go down personally to the embassy to have her photo taken and do some paper work etc. The embassy opens at 9am but many maids already queue outside the embassy to get a queue number before 9am. My maid went down at 5am and got a queue number 70+. I heard from my maid that there are maids who went a few times but couldn’t get a queue number so be prepared for that too. -
My maid is going to continue working for us for another 2 yrs. Her work permit is expiring in end Nov 2011 & passport is expiring next July 2012. When I renew her passport, do I need to produce a new working contract? Can I do a simple working contract with her on my own stating the terms like salary & off day?

711mum,
You’re welcome!
I was charged $450 for renewal of passport. After you have renewed your maid’s passport, you can do the exit pass application on your own.
For exit pass application for home leave, I asked my maid to go embassy to do on her own. Cost $11 in total. $5.50 for the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) and $5.50 for Pag-IBIG Fund membership contribution $5.50. -

hi sheryl,

Hello…
I bet your estate agent will have kept very quiet about the automatic renewal process, in the hope that you will pay them another fee.
There need not be anything in the tenancy agreement about automatic renewal. Statutory means by statute. In other words the government already made this condition. You need only to continue accepting the rent.
Thanks,

Hi, I have bought insurance and IG from NTUC and renewed my maid work permit online. On MOM work permit approval letter, it stated that I have to bring original completed Security Bond Form, may I ask:-
(a) I have bought IG from NTUC, do I still need to complete this form?
(b) Below is what I copied from the letter, who is supposed to sign on this letter?
Thanks.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
I/We hereby deposit the sum of dollars Five Thousand (SGD$ 5,000.00) as security in respect of the performance of the above conditions.
NOW THE OBLIGATION shall be void and the cash deposit shall be returned to me/us if I/we at all times perform and observe the above
conditions.
But should I/we breach any of the above conditions in respect of any of the said persons, then the Obligation shall be in full force and effect
and the amount in respect of that person as indicated in the Schedule shall be forfeited partially or in whole by the Government of the Republic
of Singapore. A partial forfeiture shall not extinguish the Government of the Republic of Singapore’s right to forfeit the remainder for the same
breach or a different breach.
