Yeah..have been toying with the idea of changing since he started P3 as he spent like 2 -2.5 hrs per day on travelling. Very tiring and most time ended up sleeping. Worst on the days with CCAs need to wait until the PM sch ends then can come home. Therefore thinking if got chance to take this opportunity to change sch or not, esp now I need to go and fetch him from sch..time spent on public transport is CRAZY! Any advice to change or not to change?

Like what vlim had said, we are now stuck if the situation to choose to move out of his current sch a GEP sch or not, what's the chances of our transfer. We have now shifted house this year.

Do you mean that your ds is currently in a GEP school and since you have shifted house, you are considering changing to another GEP school nearer to your new house?

My son's classmate from P3 who was selected for GEP switch to another GEP school in P4 although the original school is a GEP school.

But since P1 until now the current home address was used. We used to stay with my parents until I stopped work then shifted back to our own place. Will MOE care if there is not change or address?

As far as we know, the girl did not move house. We don't fully know the background but it seems her choice was granted. I don't think you have anything to lose to choose a school nearer your address. Put the reason down on the selection form and I believe given the distance of the current school to your current home address, MOE will consider granting your wish. You can clarify again on this sat's briefing.

It depends.. if u are thinking of coming over to my DS school, then , of course YES ! Most imptly, how does yr DS feel regarding changing school ? If he is ok, then , yes it make sense since yr travelling time is really unproductive and tiring !

Just888, if I were you & if your DS is fine with it, I would suggest you change to a GEP school that is nearer to your home. Put down the reason as \"nearer to home\" for your 1st choice & the chance of getting into it will be very high.
2.5hrs is crazy! The time saved from traveling can be put to better use like complete homework, project work, reading, rest, etc.
