Of sheer curiosity which schools will u be opting for ur kids? We are definitely not selecting a SAP school as we don't want DS1 to struggle with HMT

Not compulsory lah. I know that in my ds' school where there are 2 GEP classes. Only 1 class does HMT. And for the other class, only a few do HMT, not all.shalomger:

for someone who lives at River Valley, which school is more convenient by public transport (bus/mrt/cab) ? catholic high primary or nanyang primary ? I would assume the latter is more popular ? Any advice ?
DS just came home and told me out of the 10 in his class, 6 are opting for Henry Park, 1 is opting out of GEP, 3 including him hvnt decided what school to choose ....
Heard Henry Park is moving, anyone knows when and where ? -

Does MOE give a letter to those kids that do not get past 2nd round? My older ds had a letter and it said that altho' didn't get into GEP but getting past 1st round shows that he is within top 10% of cohort. Guess such a letter *might* help.
Ya, MOE did. My DS1 got his when he took his Round 2 which I kept it till today in his cert file.
I guess no harm trying at all.toxic118:
anyone has experience or heard of students using Round 1 clearance to change to a better school? what are the chances of getting a transfer and also to one of their best classes? sorry off track a bit.
thanks a mil.
I used it for his DSA too but not sure if they recognised it as an achievement. But nevertheless, it's definitely an achievement for him ...

For your info, though Rosyth is not a SAP school, the p4 geppers are all required to take HCL..However, coming to p5 gep, they will see the HCL result of p4 to offer the HCL option to the kids...And coming p6, those taking HCL in p5 and the result is way below expectation, they might be advise to drop HCL and take CL... -

No, GEP students can opt to do HMT or MT. It's up to them. Of course if you choose to attend an SAP school, you have no choice but to study HCL.shalomger:

Its moving to the Old RJC campus on Mt. Sinai. Its quite near to the existing Henry park school ( less than 5 mins walk) . So i guess that should make no difference.

Jan 2012 till Jun 2013 is the expected duration. -
