Happy Call Korean Frying Pan
-
I bought 3 from D-seller and 3 from Biz J, all seem authentic. I compared all spots noted by Alex Yong and all are ok. All pans with no hole for hanging, weighed 1.6kg. My friends are happy with their pans. Alex bought locally from an agent and not from Gmarket. I don’t remember him saying any freebies except for cheaper price.
The trick to cook with the pan without dripping from the steam vent hole is to cook on the cover than flipped over. If you look carefully, the steam vent hole has a collecting drain facing right side up. So, if you place your food on the cover and flipped over (this flip should be final), water from steam will be collected at the draining canal thus minimal liquid will spill over. -
Nice sharing on the flip dasalo! :celebrate:

I read that all new version of Happy Call pans will have hole for drying.

do wipe off any liquid from the pan if any. if u continue to cook wth the liquid dripping on the pan, the stain will stay on the pan and will be extremely difficult to clean afterwards.

What have you been doing with your own pan? Any interesting recipe to share? Btw, any tips for doing leafy veg with this pan? Mine doesn't turn out nice like from a wok.

The pan i have bought disappointed me on the following:
i) The coating near the "U" shape vent came off juz after a week’s use, exposing the inner red coat.
ii) Attempts to get the seller to exchange but no avail (after several emails) as I have to send my old pan back to them first before I can get my new pan, n international postage has to be paid by me first (I dun feel comfortable with tis arrangement as there’s no one to guarantee a new pan n refund of postage back to me).
Prior to that, the seller even insisted that their pans does not have such problems before though i have forwarded a photo as proof n they even told me that the pan has to be washed with a soft sponge.
I have given up on getting a exchange or refund from the seller as my last request for refund was counter back by them as they requested me to get back to SG gmarket headquarters. -
After hearing some of the bad experiences n concern over authencity of the pan, I held back from placing any orders from gmarket. But I cd not resist anymore n so finally ordered from the tv marketer on channel u even tho they r much more expensive. But I was told they provide half year technical support n warranty for the rubber tube. Can’t wait for my pan to arrive

Haha....I became a \"buyer\" after my friend saw my pan. My breakfast kakis by word of mouth spread the news that's why.
I bought the Ocher deeper pan and I do \"Age-dashi Tofu\" - pan fry tofu dusts with potato starch. Add soup stock (made with soy sauce, mirin, bonito stock and water) over the fried tofu, top with spring onion. You need a little oil for that tofu to taste better.
For green Veg, I usually just add alittle water, enough to cover the veg, salt and sugar. Bring to a boil and add the veg, cover the pan for 5 mins and that's it.
Pour either soy sauce (premium kind) or oyster sauce, sesame oil and top with fried dry onions (bawang goreng). -
I love the frying pan as food can be cooked so much faster. My kids like the food cooked with the pan as the meat are juicier.

Dasalo,
May I know what is the weight of your ocher pan?
