Hi all, my younger daughter just join the ballet grade 1 but i was told that they were supposed to have long hair and tie a ballet bun during class but we prefer short hair. Every single time we bring her to the hairdresser she would cry and wail loudly until the whole shop could hear her, i have no opinion about the hair length but my mother-in-law insisted on short hair…haiz…Btw she is 4 this year, girls in her school are more vain and almost all tend to have longer hair maybe also one of the reason she don’t want. Now her hair passes shoulder length again, mother-in-law starts to nag again, Anyone got suggestion?

                :welcome:

Maybe you can tell your MIL that the teacher wants her to keep the hair long?

our weather very hot & humid, sweat a lot.

does your girl wash her hair everyday ? bec some children hate washing hair. when come to wash hair, scream, cry & made so much noise.

if she doesn’t wash hair often, tell her to keep short hair. Unless she take responsiblity to look after her own body hygiene.

If the ballet teacher does not insist that your DD keep long hair, then you have to decide do you want to keep peace with your MIL or let your DD keep long hair.

My DD1 does not like to cut her hair too, but I told her she can only grow her hair when she's older and I set an age for her to do so.

Now I let her grow because I'm using it to motivate her to learn the violin
