Ya, Philip maid’s are the demanding ones. If they don’t want, they can always don’t sign and don’t come to s’pore. Why sign already then complain?

        peapot,

nobody speaks up for employers there! so many phils trolling around in that page. and they keep mentioning that they signed the US400/ month salary with weekly off back in phil but agent made them sign another one when they reach here with only SGD350/month with 1 off day/month, they felt cheated and asked MOM to help them, but so far, i didn't see MOM reply to any of their comments.

curious so i went to take a look at the fb and was surprised to see so many posts by them and i dont see any posts from employers.

what has the contract they signed in us$ got to do with employers? the employers are not the one who prepared the contract.

Employer not so free to go facebook mah, maids are the one who's so free......with more of them getting onto facebook, they will spend all their free time on FB now.....We also signed that US$400 letter which is the \"standard employment \" contract for my experienced maid in order to get the papers to allow them to return from home leave

I think MOM is aware of the situation but is being very careful what they say in public. They can't be seen to be acknowledging the fact that maids sign one contract at home and a different one here even though they know it happens.

FYI, many of the filo maids are not aware that their Philippines laws don't extend beyond their country.

You see their gov has to show something to their citizens that they are fighting for their rights but their gov also knows that it'll not work in other countries. Ask yourself. Can one country imposes its law onto another country? So, it's just a show show only.

That's the reason why MOM is not responding to this.

              😂

Hi there, I’ve just been "whacked" with a medical issue this morning and wondering if someone can help here.

My new DH (2 weeks old) apparently suffered a miscarraige 2 months before coming here. She’s gone for a OBG check-up in Philippines and gotten the all-clear. She didn’t have money for a D&C so that was not done.

Apparently this is not declared to the doctors here and she’s passed the medical.

She’s been bleeding on and off for 6 weeks now; and I’m keen to send her for further checks.

Anyone has any experience in this respect and have recommendation? I’m going to call the Maid Agency shortly but it’d be good to know if any employers here have gone through this.

                Thanks in advance.

                    Hi,

I believe the domestic insurance do not cover D&C (pregnancy related fees are not normally covered). You should check the insurance policy.

                    HTHs.

I doubt that your insurance will cover it so you will probably have little choice but to pay it yourself.
