Hi,
I believe the domestic insurance do not cover D&C (pregnancy related fees are not normally covered). You should check the insurance policy.

Hi there, I've just been \"whacked\" with a medical issue this morning and wondering if someone can help here.
My new DH (2 weeks old) apparently suffered a miscarraige 2 months before coming here. She's gone for a OBG check-up in Philippines and gotten the all-clear. She didn't have money for a D&C so that was not done.
Apparently this is not declared to the doctors here and she's passed the medical.
She's been bleeding on and off for 6 weeks now; and I'm keen to send her for further checks.
Anyone has any experience in this respect and have recommendation? I'm going to call the Maid Agency shortly but it'd be good to know if any employers here have gone through this.
Thanks in advance. -
is it true tat maids who work over 5yrs in spore must go update their wk permit to a new type? wats the process n any cost? any penalty if din do?

I doubt that your insurance will cover it so you will probably have little choice but to pay it yourself.Hi,

does anyone change hse keys aft maid leaves? jus in case ? got locks that r fingerprint type?
-
I didn’t change becos all keys handled by us, in my case, maid didn’t have keys of her own.
If you get electronic locks, can reprogram either the token/card/fingerprint. -
for peace of mind, change it.
dont think it is necessary to change the lock on the wooden door, just the padlock on the gate is enough. -
LKVM:
Regarding your query.. again its employer's fault that we didnt do our checks properly before hiring(which we cannot do  )...so if there is anything required now or in future it will be all by you and I dont think either agency or MOE can help.... thats the reality....
But maybe you can speak to agency and see if they can change the helper for you....minami:

:thankyou: all! Yes, read the policy - doesn't cover pg related stuff and doesn't cover pre-disposed illness, condition etc - i.e., prior to coming to SG and the policy being in effect.
I doubt that your insurance will cover it so you will probably have little choice but to pay it yourself.
What I do not understand is WHY the medical check-ups did NOT highlight this issue - the one done here and the one in PH.
I intend to pay for it myself :moneyflies: . Yep, like LKVM says, it's a case of \"suay-ness\" - but I'm very Chinese in spite of my chiat kang tang, so I believe that the phoenix will rise from the ashes, good follows the bad that doesn't kill you.
FYI, I called the agency and their response was \"haiz, it's only human...if they do not want to declare, we also cannot do anything.\" I was like  :scared: :yikes: It's a LIFE we are talking about here. This life is in my house albeit she's a new person! :nunchuk:
I'll bring her to the GP either later today or early tomorrow morning for a check-up. Then we'll take it from there. What an anniversary prezzie

Yes, pre-disposed illness not covered by insurance. The medical checkup... what can I say. One of my ex-maids had breast cancer (relapse) and we didn't even know until very very late...

Seriously I was having the same thoughts. New husband?? 2 months only?? Health problem?? Whoa !!!!! This is a tough one. I know of one case the maid got cyst or something after one year in the job. Employer pays for surgery and everything. Can't claim but employer is happy with the maid. After contract ends, maid left for HK. So I guess u need to call the insurance company. If no coverage, you have to decide if you still want to keep her.hehe, LKVM, you crack me up! I've been so busy so MIA for a loooong while.
