ya, if the question involved eg $ and quantity, she can mix up the values for both. just not a clear-minded person by nature.
she is that kind, open door, forgot to close the door type of person. -

Hi kelpw!
I wanted to ask as ur same qn.My son is the king of careless mistakes. This SA2 paper haven’t yet come.So I don’t know where he lose marks. He has no problem with undertanding model. But he hate to do lot of practise. He does very slow.He will be in P4 next year.Still he haven’t yet memorise the multiplication table. He use skip counting. His CA1 and SA1 dipped in P2 then CA2 and SA2 improved a lot with no careless mistakes. Then again P3 CA1,CA2 and SA1 continuously go down. Now SA2 improved by 10 marks than CA2.So I decided to send tution. Then I analyse all tuitions. Now finally I decide to coach him by my self.I read a lot of threads in KSP and took some valuabe advise. No Teacher better than the own parent. -

Hi,
Last time I have a problem with my DD finishing Pri 6 going to Sec1. Imagine taking additional subjects, changes in teaching methods etc… she did not do well too, she can’t scope with the additional workload. Its take time for them to adjust to the changes. If you are looking at giving her tuition, maybe I can pm you the contacts. Let me know. -
It’s best that parent can teach. I teach my own child, even piano.
When I teach other kids as a tutor,
I encourage parents to chip in too bcos I may
only come once or twice a wk.
A child who’s weak in his studies need
constant practice everyday, then can see improvement.
But many of my students’ parents once they have me,
they ‘washed’ their hands off and my students always
say my parents leave me alone now tat you are teaching me.
As for your case, since you dont have time,
wkdays get a tutor, Wkend you must chip in to help.
It makes a difference and your child will improve.
Pm me if you need help. -
Hey all!
I’m not sure if yall will find this useful, but just giving recommendations! Im currently a student in RG and had a really good math and sci tutor in pri sch(: I had private tuition where I went to my tutor’s hse. I really liked the tuition and felt that it was extremely useful and effective as teacher Mavis will tailor the lessons according to the ability of different students. Unlike major tuition centres that I used to attend, my tutor was more and genuinely concerned about our results. each class has a max of 6 students and may have mixed levels. But somehow it felt more like personal tuition as teacher Mavis ensured that each and everyone understood their weaknesses and knew how to solve the various questions that they were unable to attempt previously so I really improved by leaps and bounds! Also, mixing with other level students also truly helped in my learning as there was enough but not excess interaction(: Do pm me if you want her contact, or any other problems(: I’ll be more than willing to help those who are aiming to score well for math and science since I had a really good tutor who helped me pull through pri sch math and sci(: -
hi rafflesianrg,
may i know where is yr tutor’s hse? -
HI Kelpw!
Math is easy to score if you help boost your daughter’s confidence. I once taught a student who scored U-grade throughout from P3-P5 but she managed to scored a pass for PSLE. Anyway, an easy way I feel that can boost your child’s morale is to tell her the different tricks on how to solve questions. For example, if your child is weak in understanding more than or less than (since she’s in P2), tell her that the first number always belong to the more than or less than.
Eg. 321 is 10 more than _____? So, 'more than" belongs to 321, therefore, answer is definitely smaller.
Should you need more in such concept, you may always feel free to pm me. More than willing to help you. Advise is to find a young yet experienced tutor to create that interest in your girl for mathematics. -
