this table is painstakingly updated by Chief (founder of KSP), through much conscientious effort, time and dedicated commitment. perhaps we can request Chief to try update with latest 2011 info, when he has the time.

agree that this colorful table is very useful to parents who need past years balloting info, at finger tips. Keep up the excellent work done, Chief !

a) by now, you'll have a few schools in mind (including backup schools). can you pls call up MOE Customer service information counter at telephone: 6872220 ?

give them your postal code address (the address that you intend to use to register for P1). Ask the duty Officer to help you check on the spot (while you hold the phone line) - out of the few schools in the list that you'd indicated to him, which are the ones that fall < 1km, between 1 to 2 km ?

if you apply under phase 2C - zoom in, focus on those schools that are <1km.

b) regarding phase 2B,
do you by any chance - happen to belong to any Methodist church ?

if Yes, so long as you are a member of any Methodist church and your pastor can help to write a letter confirming that you are indeed a member of the church, you may try phase 2B, MGS (Bukit Timah). Usually nearer the time closer to P1 registration period, pastors of Methodist churches will ask parents who are church members - this year, are there any parents with kids due for forthcoming P1 registration? if Yes, pastors will authorize & issue these letters.

again, ask that MOE Customer officer - how far is your house located from MGS ?

if Officer reply is:
MGS is 1-2 km or > 2 km from your house, it is v risky - bec you may not even get a chance to ballot at all.

the only way out is you quickly rent a house < 1km from MGS (running out of time 6 months left now), try your luck under 2B.

summary:
========

if you're a member of any Methodist church, not necessarily die die must join MGS church only - you can try MGS under 2B first, failing which then you've another chance try 2C again, if you shift nearer to < 1km. You need that letter from your Methodist church pastor.

but if you're not a member of any Methodist church, then Sorry, you can't apply under 2B, but you still can try under 2C.

that was what happened to my friend this year.
she tried under 2B < 1km initially, but was balloted out (during 2B lucky draw time, school did not call out her daughter's name). She went home, locked herself in the room, cried her heart out, devasted. When come to 2C, she tried one last time - praying hard. From the lucky draw dip box, a child's name was called out, one by one. Her daughter's name was one of the ... last 3 names to be called :nailbite: , during balloting under 2C < 1km. It's all luck. dun know why ... first time no luck, second time then got luck. She got in at 2C, not 2B !

one important thing -
before you start renting house < 1km, call up school to inquire - is based on distance sufficient ? or is it (distance + rental tenure period). Not sure what is MGS latest stand now. Pls, better call up school or write email to confirm the facts, before take next step. if the school's reply is based on distance alone, then fine.

Good news to hear that you stay < 1km from (RGPS & NYPS).

for RGPS -
P1 2012 intake - Total 9 classes (270 pupils).

for phase 2C this year, those > 1km no chance to ballot at all. only < 1km can ballot.

for P1 2013 intake - pray hard that Total classes still remain at 9, not cut to 8. :nailbite:
closer the time under 2C - compare: is it RGPS or NYPS that offer more vacancies for < 1km, the number of times over subscribed ? All the very best to your daughter

Yes, I’ll see what happens then & keep my finger crossed but I’ve seen a lot of tenants around here trying this method and lots of girls too for next year intake aiming for RGPS. OMG!!! on that day of balloting, it's boils down to .... Luck. like tikam tikam, strike lottery, jump for joy! for popular hot schools - esp for 2C, a lot of hopeful tenants will rent < 1km.

No choice - because if rent > 1km, worry that may not be given a chance to ballot at all. Then if buy a house < 1km, what if unlucky buy already, not balloted in ? So, many people put buying on hold first, decide to rent first. At least fight for a chance try to get in first. After get in, then come and buy house. The heat is on liao! 6 more months coming fast ... because one day at a time passes so quickly.

Phase 2C <1 km can ballot. I am not at ease. I am staying very near to ACS and SCGS, I dare not take the risk after studying the year 2010 balloting result (year 2011 is not updated?) from this forum. I would only be happy and relieved if the school will automatically give those who really stay (not rent) to gain entry to the school and not ballot.
