Preparing Your Child for Primary School (A Parent Seminar by the Ministry of Education)
Starting primary school is a big step in your child’s life. To help you better understand primary school programmes and enable you to make key education decisions, the Ministry of Education will be conducting a seminar on Primary School Education. At the seminar, parents can look forward to sharing sessions by the school principal and a parent volunteer, as well as view the various programmes our primary schools provide.
The Primary Education System
Mdm Vimi D Sambwani, Principal, Corporation Primary School
The Primary School years are focused on giving students a good grasp of English Language, Mother Tongue and Mathematics; as well as helping children build character and cultivate good values and habits. Mdm Vimi will share with parents an overview of Primary School Education.
Supporting Your Child in Primary School
Mdm Lya Ang, MOE Parent Ambassador
With the right support from parents and schools, children will be able to adapt well and build a strong foundation for the rest of their education. Mdm Ang will share practical tips on how to prepare your child for and partner with your primary school so that he or she can have an enjoyable school experience.

The Xingnan girls are so cute!
It'll be held at Corporation Primary. All those with P1 kids encouraged to attend! -
Just to share a piece of information from Rulang’s principle Ms. Cheryl Lim.
There are approx. 300 potential PV applying for 2012/2013 but the school can only take in 20. -
so those staying more than 1km PV will have less chances of getting in?
-
I guess is a fairer system. that means those 20 are more or less got their space in Rulang. I won’t want to be ending up dong PV for nothing.

Yup... I guess thats the reason too.
But no sure what's the selection criteria. -
agree. think this yr many parents who PV were very upset not to even have a chance to ballot. plus it's really getting hotter and hotter each yr!
last year their PSLE results were very good too. usually there is a trend for schools with recent good PSLE results to have more registrants the following few years.
I think that happened to Rosyth this year cos of their top scorers!
