Have heard before that the load gets increasingly scary from P5. Any idea how scary? Will they still have time to complete assessment? Wondering if I should get any during the coming 20% discount in Popular

I currently hv 2 DDs in upper primary @ Rulang. Their workload is indeed heavy but managable. I noticed that through the many assessment & mock papers provided, my DDs not only learn content and process skills, but also strategies on how to answer exam questions succinctly and clearly (esp science and compre). Their teachers are v dedicated and will go thru OE question in details to help them in answering questions. This has made it easier for me to do weekend revisions with my DDs or coach them before an examination as I appreciate better what is expected from the papers.

My DDs are privileged to be able join the top classes where they learn not only from the teachers but also from their many friends in class who work hard, are bright and are good role models to them. The teacher shares many well-written student essays with them and the kids are exposed to competitions, projects and presentation opportunities beyond school lessons.

Although one of my DD is weaker in math, she is encouraged by her classmates who are good in it. She sees them as role models and this has encouraged her to practice and put in more effort in math. I am very thankful to their teachers. My elder DD's teacher even called me one evening (over my concern abt my DD's math) and we spoke for over an hour on how we can help her overcome her areas of weakness. Rulang teachers are indeed a great bunch of educators!

Must agree the Rulang teachers are pretty dedicated. While fierce, think they are able to command both respect and instil some fear in the students. I must agree that my DD has 'blossomed' since transferring in....and I'm glad. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just hold off and wait for ~2 months to gauge the workload before any purchase. Thanks and all the best to your P6 PSLE. Must be xiong to have one PSLE after another. My turn will come as DS will be doing PSLE in 2012 and DD in 2013.

ANybody’s child taking robotics as CCA in Rulang? Is there any material available in market to buy so I can help my DD ? She is not quite comfortable with enrichment classes and would like to take robotics next year. Pls help

I think its up to individual, and have to depends on whether your DD is small eater or big eater.

I gave DS $1.20 in P1, and now he's in P3 this year, I gave him $1.80 to $2 per day. To him, its more than enough.

I gave DS $1.20 in P1, and now he's in P3 this year, I gave him $1.80 to $2 per day. To him, its more than enough.

I think $1.50 for p1 is enough as there is only 1 recess.

When you are in the school, do take a look at the prices of food in the canteen to have a feel how much to give.
Also, it is the time to cultivate the good habit of saving for rainy days.
My p6 dd has only $1.80 per day. She eats bread during recess, takes her lunch in school and still have some leftover provided not buying drinks & other tit-bits etc.

FYI, In Pri 1, DS spent his money on bookshop purchase ( all the nonsense stuffs la), in P2, he wised up. In P3, he managed better cos there are 2 breaks ( recess n lunch)...
