there are many imitation of red pans, and it’s scary as these imitation pans may emit toxic chemical while we use the pans. the imitation brown pans has yet to surface and its actual weight can be a reference for those who wishes to make future purchase, in the event these imitation brown pans surface. However, the imitation brown pans can also weigh the same as the real thing.

        kids_r_innocent:
The pan i have bought disappointed me on the following:

        i) The coating near the \"U\" shape vent came off juz after a week's use, exposing the inner red coat.

ii) Attempts to get the seller to exchange but no avail (after several emails) as I have to send my old pan back to them first before I can get my new pan, n international postage has to be paid by me first (I dun feel comfortable with tis arrangement as there's no one to guarantee a new pan n refund of postage back to me).
Prior to that, the seller even insisted that their pans does not have such problems before though i have forwarded a photo as proof n they even told me that the pan has to be washed with a soft sponge.

I have given up on getting a exchange or refund from the seller as my last request for refund was counter back by them as they requested me to get back to SG gmarket headquarters.
        Hi kids_r_innocent,
Can you take a pic of the paint coming off? I bought from the same seller as you and now am concern after seeing your post. Are you still using the pan?

          Any diff?
anybody has an answer to this? cos the pans showed on channel U do not come with that hole in the handle but the ones in gmarket seem to all have that hole? I inquired one of the sellers on gmarket and he replied that the ones with holes are new design? i wonder if it's true...anyone knows anything?

I've read on Supermothers http://superbmothers.blogspot.com/2011/09/happycall-pan-faq_19.html#Q2 that the one with hole is a newer version.

            Cheers,

Sorry for the late reply, was busy with the spree and i don't have a scale at home. Lucky my husband bought me one yesterday.

                Weights of HCP Pan
All the vendors at http://www.gmarket.com.sg/gmkt.inc/?jaehuid=200003223 will tell you these are the official weights as follows

Pan Type-------Vendors-------My Digital Kitchen Scale weight
                HCP Standard-----1.55kg~1.6kg-----~1.58kg (http://list.gmarket.com.sg/g/404162282/200003223) ~ 1.59kg (http://tinyurl.com/happycallsgs)
                HCP Deeper-----1.7kg-----~1.69kg (http://tinyurl.com/happycallzz)
                Ocher Deeper-----1.9kg-----~1.68kg (http://tinyurl.com/happycallsgs) ~ 1.69kg (BizJ)
                Ocher Jumbo-----2.1kg-----~1.9kg (http://list.gmarket.com.sg/g/404162282/200003223)

I am not too sure this finding is helpful or meaning less as http://list.gmarket.com.sg/s/HAPPYCALL?keyword=happycall&keyword_auto_change=&jaehuid=200003223 did not release official weight and i am using a kitchen scale. But i am happy with the pan, it is lighter and i am sure it is authentic from http://list.gmarket.com.sg/s/HAPPYCALL?keyword=happycall&keyword_auto_change=&jaehuid=200003223.

Pan Version (Hook Hole vs No Hook Hole, Export Vs Non Export)
Let talk about export non export version. Happycall officially export version is HCP Standard without Hook Hole (Lejel is selling it) and Chefel (Export to US and European Market, however i saw ecosway selling it at their outlet in Gelyang Central, near the hawker centre, i miss it on tip off the first round there, however it cost $104 for non member, look like a regular 55mm pan but ocher in colour)

Domestic Happycall Pan does have the hook hole and it is newer. Deeper, Jumbo, Ocher is not available outside Korea in the name of http://list.gmarket.com.sg/s/HAPPYCALL?keyword=happycall&keyword_auto_change=&jaehuid=200003223, export version is call Chefel. One thing to note, China made Happycall do not have hook hole version for now. Gmarket Vendor (That i have bought) that sell domestic version of Standard HCP http://tinyurl.com/happycallsgs,http://tinyurl.com/happycallzz, http://tinyurl.com/hcpstar (recently) Lejel's no hook version http://list.gmarket.com.sg/g/404162282/200003223, 99miles, http://list.gmarket.com.sg/g/404010711/200003223. http://tinyurl.com/hcpglotem is a new vendor carrying domestic series, we have spoke to them but yet to buy from them.

How to spot a fake (My experience)
The pan is too cheap. Current only HCP Standard has fake. A HCP Standard is sold in Korea for around SGD$40, Shipping cost around SGD $20~$40. Most vendors make money by selling extra sealers and the free gifts eat into their margin. Domestic Version don't come cheap, so you can see why http://tinyurl.com/hcpglotem, http://tinyurl.com/happycallsgs, http://tinyurl.com/happycallzz do not offer much free gifts. Perhaps non hook export version is cheaper, so the other vendor can give more free gifts? Therefore you can conclude if you are buying way less than the \"official price\" at http://www.gmarket.com.sg/gmkt.inc/?jaehuid=200003223, you got to read their review carefully. Imitation pans does come with more fancy box like the one show on Alex Yong http://fakehappycall.wordpress.com, that is the same box sold on China website. (But Lejel does come with their own box) My spree price is $59 for non hook, $62 for hook, $68 for Ocher Deeper n $82 for Ocher Jumbo. Ok this is a recipe page i will stick to the rule, for pan issue go to my http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=27627, or my http://tinyurl.com/hcpspree01 to discuss, i am trying out some recipe from mamas here. I love my http://list.gmarket.com.sg/s/HAPPYCALL?keyword=happycall&keyword_auto_change=&jaehuid=200003223 🙂

PS Sorry for this lengthy entry

To play safe, I don't use the green scouring pad side...

Thanks for your prompt reply.....do you mean that I can put the pan under running water to wash with soap and sponge??? also can dip the whole hcp into a basin of water to wash????(of course, cannot use any hard pad to wash this one I can understand).....I'm just thinking if can wash this way could be faster and easier......
