VooVoo:
They have Topical Tests, show and tell, spelling test.. many many small tests.. etc this tests will be counted in to compute the score out at the end of the year although the school said no exam. For P1, how do they compute the score when there's no exams...sorry, very blurr about all these...
BTW, remedial lessons for P1s???
The only thing we look at their report book will be the overall level % and class level %.
As for remedial lessons for P1s, for the weaker students. -

:congrats: to you and your DD!My DD score 95%, is it consider good score for a P1 student? 98% is the highest in her class.
Teacher said she is one of the top students in the class, marks were pretty close, although she was not selected for Top 5 achiever awards but she is selected to be the model pupil for the class.
She was so happy. Me too: rah-rah:
For P2 going to P3 (Top 160 students will go to HA Classes) what will be the % score in order to go to the Top 4 classes?
This is like asking what is the score of the 160th student. I don't think anyone will know.
Anyway, the qualifying % score should be different each year. The year with a lot of exceptionally bright students (or if the exams were easy) will see a higher % score, and vice versa. -

I see. I thought it is for some special talent like sports or music while DH thought it must be for the super top student...Rising Star Award was created last year. If I don't remember wrongly, it is to award students who have made great improvement after attending the sch's remedial classes.
Btw, need adv on ECCA/CCA from P4. Understand that students must take CCA fm P4. Will ECCA suffice? Unfortunately, my kid's favorite ECCA would not be converted to CCA so I am wondering if he needs to take up a CCA on top of the ECCA.
What is the difference between ECCA and CCA? -

You really have a lot of info... did the teacher tell this to the whole class? We haven't got back the portfolio file or report book before the MTP, hence have no idea how DD fared vis-a-vis the class or the level, except that she would receive something on Friday. My DD score 95%, is it consider good score for a P1 student? 98% is the highest in her class.

For P2 going to P3 (Top 160 students will go to HA Classes) what will be the % score in order to go to the Top 4 classes? I realized that this school almost 2/3 of the students scores very well. I have seen some kids were so stressed out by the marks, they even cried when the names were not on the Top chart.
Her teacher also wouldn't or couldn't tell us what is the highest combined score (we were only told individual subject score for the class and the level) or who were the top 5 achievers in class. Haha... no one in the class asked about model students.
Got students cry? During the class MTP or during school time when told by teachers? Actually I thought not many students around during the MTP... -

I see! Thanks for the explanation. Should be no different whether one pays or not, right?

According to the school calendar, all students should get the report books yesterday.

Does the school provide highest, lowest, average scores etc for each subject in the class and/or at the whole level?
