Thanks. But ok lah... only P1, there is still a long road ahead...
:congrats: Busymom and BusyDD!Busymom:
have no idea how DD fared vis-a-vis the class or the level, except that she would receive something on Friday.
-
It's a good start.

BigDevil:
That's right. The Chinese one wasn't shown in the hall. It was from DD's form teacher.8228:
Does the school provide highest, lowest, average scores etc for each subject in the class and/or at the whole level?
The English and Maths HOD flashed the high-low-mean scores of the entire level during their MTP presentation, but not the Chinese HOD.
DD's Form Teacher showed us the class high-low-mean for each subject when we broke out into individual classes. Not sure if all FTs do it. -

It's a good start.

yes, hopefully.
You will be there on Friday too, right?
-
Yes, I will be.
I will be the one looking around wondering which pretty lady is Busymom.

The class teacher will show ppt to the whole class how the students have done for all subjects, class level & the overall level, you can able to tell the highest % in the class by looking at the chart. As for the child overall performance, you need to check with your DD teacher. Her teacher will be able to gauge your DD overall performance in class. No ζε for P1, not able to know who is first, second or third in class. You really have a lot of info... did the teacher tell this to the whole class? We haven't got back the portfolio file or report book before the MTP, hence have no idea how DD fared vis-a-vis the class or the level, except that she would receive something on Friday.
Her teacher also wouldn't or couldn't tell us what is the highest combined score (we were only told individual subject score for the class and the level) or who were the top 5 achievers in class. Haha... no one in the class asked about model students.
Got students cry? During the class MTP or during school time when told by teachers? Actually I thought not many students around during the MTP...
Parents are more interested in academic than character development, which my DD class has faced the same thing.
I have seen the students cried when I fetch my DD back from school, when they told their parents their names were not on the top chart is not during the MTP. The students already know the awardees result before the MTP.
Regardless high achiever awards or model pupil awards, the child deserved what they have been achieved for this whole year. Both awardees have done so well :celebrate: -
I am usually the bo chup parent who does not bother to attend MTP session. As there is a big jump from P3 to P4, I will be attending tonight for P3 students.
Does it really ends at 9 pm ? Need to gauge and arrange hb to come pick me up.
Thanks in advance to any reply -
sorry guys, was super busy at work. What time does the MTP for current P3 students starts tonight?
-
The official schedule is 6:30 - 9pm.
Ours ended around 8:30pm last night. Parents of some other classes left earlier, so guess it depends on how much your Form Teacher has to say. -
I am soooo sad. My dd is top in her class in terms of average percentage, but she is NOT eligible for the High Achiever Award. Why? Because she is exempted from mother tongue.
I spoke with the P, she said the \"policy\" is based on the average of four subjects and not three. And NYPS has been doing this for a long long time, so cannot change now. I told her even for PSLE, MOE will adjust the scores to give a \"full\" T-score for children with exemption. So for school awards, children with exemption should also not be penalized in this way!!! But she said no. I said, how about a simple letter of commendation even though she cannot attend the ceremony. She said no again.
I soooooo sad.....
My poor girl.....
ps1... it's actually me who feel more sad than my dd. She is ok. She said she preferred not to take the award and keep MT exempted than take MT with the award... ha ha....
ps2... it seems that other schools may have use the average (regardless if it's 3 or 4 subjects). Because the P at first told me it's the average, doesn't matter if it's 3 or 4 subjects (from her previous experience), then after she checked with the VP, she said the \"long\" history of NYPS is that they use the average of 4 subjects and so she won't want to change it now....
