      24hr-mum:
      hi mummies

i am now stil disorientated abt the daily routine and schedule.

check with u, what time do u turn on the washing machine for the day?
i turn on mine at 6am, and the cycle finishes at 730am.
then i transfer the clothes to the dryer. but my dryer is sensor type, u cant
choose the timing. if the clothes are not enuf, the dryer takes more than 2hrs also wont auto off.
how long does ur dryer take to finish a cycle?

what time do u on the dryer?

i am thinkg of separating the whites but i dont hv enuf load leh
      unless one week wash once?

what is ur daily schedule like?
I don't have a dryer. I wash my clothes at night after cooking and after washing the dishes and mop, I hang the laundry to dry and take out to the sun in the morning and bring in after 2 hrs. Lately, all my clothes are dried completely even though it rains in the afternoon. I make use of my sleeping hours to dry. sometimes I mix light coloured (pink, light blue, light yellow) with whites so no need to wait.

If you wet mop your floor once a week, in between you can use wet paper towels (magic kleen). Otherwise, if you can take it than it's ok. My late mum used to tell us it is more important to sweep than to mop.

        hi 24hr mum,

like you, i have similar questions when i first went maidless. i was trying very hard to get things done and following other people's schedule...........blah blah blah...

i believe the best thing to do is to take a good look at your family daily routine and plan your housework schedule around it. you can do anything at anytime but it must be at your own convenience and at your own acceptable level of cleanliness.

dont freak out just because the colour of the clothes run after washing or the house is not as clean as before or you dont have time with the kids. after a month or so, things should begin to fall into pattern and things would get better. 😂

Hey thanks dasalo. haha....i think i have a long way to graduation. 🙂

Didnt feel the need to have the part time helper since there is only 3 of us in the house, and i am only working part-time. Feel the pinch when your income is down so much.

Is the Laura star4 good? Saw some negative reviews and its pretty ex. i cant take those steam irons coz DH likes his shirts with the neatly ironed lines, so steam iron cant have that effect you see.

With the little one at home, quite tough to do housechores. Must think of ways to distract him to sit by himself to play and i dont need to worry about him.

Sorry, playpen are those cots but in plastic type right?

I used to record my voice in a recorder and played it to my girl when she is in the playcot while I went about my house work. So that she won’t feel that I m not there.

oh my dryer doesnt seem to dry completely even after 2.5hrs. i suspect it needs 3hrs? cos its the sensor type, i cant choose the timing. i chose it becos it has front vent, no tube to hang ard window.

i dun hv plc to hang my clothes to air dry.

              any recommendation for gd dryer?
also, if i turn on the washer at nite to wash, leave the wet clothes in the washer overnite, nx morning then transfer to dryer, is that ok?

i find that if i go out in the morning for errands, come back to cook lunchn dinner, i really hv no time for my slf and to coach the kids work…sigh…

Don't confuse Laurastar G4 to S4. S4 is the full ironing board attached to water tank. G4 is portable type.

You got me confused now with the steam iron. I meant real iron with steam (now I don't know the name for those irons, what are they called?)and not those novita standing steam iron. I use the latter only on silk and satin or dri-fit Ts never on Biz Shirts.

Buy foldable clothes drying rack. I got one pretty neat from Giant and cost only $50. It's the vertical sort and not horizontal that takes up space.

I heard Bosch is good but costly abt 2K (condenser type)

Not advisable cos it might smell, alternatively you might want to timer your machine to finish in the morning. My machine has a delay 24 hr function

Honestly, you hardly find time for yourself at first but don't be discouraged. If you wake up early like 6am, you might want to take a power nap in the mid morning or early afternoon to recharge yourself. Than you'll have more energy to do the rest of the afternoon chores.
Feel your flow of work, see what you do best at what time and slowly, you'll sneak in sometime for yourself. For now, I feel best just to get enough rest and I won't feel grouchy and find faults with the kids.

It's raining heavily now in my area and my clothes are dried and ready to be iron and folded. Sometimes you need to follow the weather too. :boogie:

I forgot to add that spinning speed on the washing machine matters too. I have an adjustable speed ranging from 800rpm to 1600rpm. I normally use 1400rpm/1200rpm for cotton/mix and it dries within 2hrs under the sun. If left indoors usually dries 6-8hrs. That's why I dry overnight.

if my dryer is in full load mode, my clothes would still be damp. so i put in half load of clothes and they come out dried. 🤷

i wake up at 6am and still nvr finish the tasks…

my dryer EF is the condenser type with sensor and anti crease.
my friend suggested TOP clothes detergent that wont make clothes smell.
i will try that next time.
she also suggested vanish stain remover. seems effective and can make sch shoes so white.
wats the name of the vertical drying rack?
i tried cooking for the first time. whole process plus washing etc takes 2hrs. too long right??

i notice my clothes tend to be torn and the washer agt asked me to lower the spin speed to 600rpm instead of 800rpm
