Note sure what level your kid is in, but for lower to mid pri, you can get the HCL assessment books only and rely on it for CL. However, for upper pri, you have to get separate assessment books for HCL and CL as the format for HCL is very different from CL. I have been looking around and was puzzled why the HCL is always only compre and lack the other components. Search high search low.....& wondering why so hard to find HCL that cover everything, why concentrated on compre. :oops:

Based on the Singapore Exam and Assessment Board (thanks to pixedust who has posted the link in the earlier page of this thread), the answer is YES.

There is 语文应用 which I did a check and may cover hanyu pinyin. And there will also be 完成对话 in 2013 psle.

Just to add on, both the above are in CL paper not HCL paper.

Hi experienced parents,
Ds used to have an over zealous CL teacher who gave tonnes of homework and drove the class crazy. I think the entire class did pretty well for CL. However, it is at the expense of their playtime and maybe..probably the other subjects.

With HCL and CL being 2 different papers and formats in the coming year, and HCL not being counted in the T-score for PSLE, I am trying to see if there is a good strategy to do CL and HCL well and NOT at the expense of the other subjects and playtime. Got any such strategy?

The above from Gabby is for CL format. HCL format is as follows:

试卷二 60m
•语文应用20 分（2 sections: choosing phrases and editing)
•阅读理解(一)14分
•阅读理解(二)26分

That's why some forummers mentioned cannot find HCL books with all the other sections of 短文填空题 and 完成对话, because these are not in HCL at all.

HCL is not easy to score, unless you are very strong in language, or you are very lucky to study what appears in the paper. It is much wider in scope than CL. Editing and compre are the killer sections.

For 口试, 作文...have to memorize. Regarding 听力, that is one section to score too. My son's 'best' for Paper 2 is 语文应用 and 完成对话.
