I must share this: I visited Bistro du Vin @ Shaw Centre recently. It’s a casual French restaurant next to Les Amis. I ordered mussels, which was their special of the day. OMG. The mussels were the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had plenty of mussels in Europe. They were the most tender, juicy, succulent mussels I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. I never knew mussels could be tender! (Not mushy tender, but tender with a delicate bite, if you know what I mean). You know how mussels always have that slightly tough bit? These don’t. And not long after that visit to Bistro du Vin, I had mussels at the Disgruntled Chef, which, while yummy, weren’t as beautiful as the mussels at Bistro du Vin. I could go on and on and on about it. Thinking about it now is making me drool.

I’d love to go again. I hope they have mussels on the menu…

Oh dear... now I have a problem. I have to decide between MummyThreeStreams mussels or AutumnBronze's paella.

I feel very conflicted leh.... :scratchhead:

              Chenonceau,

Try Both! Mussels are not on the regular menu for Bistro du Vin though.

Call up Bistro du Vin and if they don’t have mussels, head on over to Vivo for paella!

I just came back from Paella at Serenity… it was yummy!! I brought my camera to take photos but just when the tapas arrived, the battery went flat. We might go back next week after DD’s A level exams, so that I can take pictures. The only thing though is that the food has a pretty high level of sodium content. Both husband and I came back feeling thirsty.

Opposite Serenity is a Japanese dessert place with tarts to die for.

Then we took a walk along the boulevard that leads to Sentosa. Every weekend up until Dec 11, there are gymnastics and marionnette shows. Free. Marionnette at 8.30. Gymnastics from 6.30 onwards. With these events for added interest, that boulevard makes for a very charming walk in the evening with its sparkling lights on the floor. A highly recommended family outing on a weekend night.

I have to take that walk down the promenade then.

I like Fruit Paradise. Yum! Bad for waistline though.

I like Morton's but I find their servings way too big. So we've learnt to cut down our orders and cut out dessert. Otherwise we have to roll our fat tummies home. 😄 Oh and I like their after dinner mints.
