This book is also included as an optional guide in my DD's booklist for next year P3.

I think, the book should be confortable for them to read and understand when you are introducing science. don buy the book because someone said so or etc, etc.
then you'll end up with a collection of white elephants ....unless your science T insists / you want to have that for yourself to get an idea.

      **duplicate**

Please make sure any Science reference book/assessment to buy is what the teacher INSISTS...or else you will end up with LOTS of white elephants. Some school book list have lots of titles...don't fall into the trap of buying everything on the list.

I had a great time at the BookFest yesterday afternoon. It was crowded at the assessment book section. EPH had promoters there to help parents look for assessment books...guessed it must be because there are too many publishers now. Certain titles have 22% discount. 'Everything you need to know about Science' by Patricia Chan has 22% discount...glanced through briefly and found that it is simpler than the boxed ones I bought back then 😢

Can you advise which is better? I am torn between these 2:

Everything you need to know about Science OR Ultimate Science Guide?

              Thanks!

I would still go for PSLE ultimate science.

                    Hi All!

After have many guide books,do u find answers for all qns?.I just frustrated. couldn’t find answer for "What is the function of jelly-like covering of frog?".
I feel wasted to buy assessment books.I think only one guide book enough.
Utimate science enough for lower primary.FAQ by janet sim more useful for intensive revision before exam.I can recommend this assessment book to buy.
.After doing past paper qns, I feel Conquer and process skills are wasted.
I don’t know why I bought again two books, weekly companion by longman and Science revision workbook – Renee chong.

                      smartmumy,
Is the question worded, \"What is the function of the jelly-like substance which cover the eggs of the frog?\"
DD1's answer: The eggs of the frogs are encased in a jelly-like substance. The jelly-like substance protects the eggs and ensure that at least a few of the eggs would hatch into tadpoles and some would grow into adults.

I do not know whether my DD1's is \"exactly\" correct but I found similar reference notes in the \"Everything you need to know about Science\" by Patricia Chan-Dendroff, Page 207 😄

Don't feel disheartened about buying wrong assessment books - you never know that you or your children will need them one day. Our children have to keep all their Science notes/books/assessments till PSLE so take heart, don't be discouraged, ok? :hugs:

Yes, doing past year exam papers is a way of exploring our children to the type of questions expected for exams. Conquer Science and Process Skills are of a more challenging questions assessment books so thus some P3 children (like my DD1) might feel switch off doing them. What I do is I copy all the answers from the Process Skill, make copy and DD1 uses them as reference notes to read at her own timing 😄

Longman weekly Companion is good for daily/weekly practises - especially to do it after the school has finished with that certain topic. Child will then be able to enhance what has been taught in school; this is my own humble opinion 😉

                        Thanks champion for ur encouragement.

Yah the both teachers@work books can be reference not for doing.but sometimes I think this kind of qns come for exams? Why do we need to waste our time?

Yup the forg’s qns ur qn is right. But I remember that its help the egg to trap heat from sun (incubate the egg) and defend the enemies as slippery. And remeber notrish for embrio. But now I forgot where I saw these answers.
I wanted to make sure but couldn’t find. One qn from conquer book.

I have to check the PSLE qns so that we know these qns are useful or not.
