I saw 基础汉字500 going at $5 each level at John Little Expo sale today. Not sure if this is cheaper than Popular after 20% discount?

Do you know when is the John Little Expo sale ending?
i think there are 5 levels and each level, there are 5 books in each level. Erm, pls pls correct me if im wrong. I went Popular 2 days ago, I think before discount is $6.50 each book… Beri expensive if buy all 5 books for all levels…

Hi Tamarind and other mummies,
My DD is now in K1 and we are now at Book 3 of Siwukuaidu (SWKD). Does anyone know of any good Chinese readers which can be used to reinforce the words learnt from SWKD? I realized that even at Book 3, it is hard to find a simple Chinese storybook that DD can read out loud all by herself. There are bound to be words that she has not learnt yet and I find it quite disruptive because she will read a few words then pause (cos it’s a word she has not learnt yet) and then read, pause, read, pause…
Is this normal? Do we have to finish Book 6 before DD is able to read most of the words in a storybook? Pardon me if I’m asking a silly question. Thank you.
