I think any language gets harder to learn and master as you start later. The language is further complicated with the feminine and masculine elements to each object. Her teachers don't encourage students with weak English foundation to take on French as it may jeopardize the learning of both languages. However, given the right encouragement and great teachers but most importantly, loads of self interest/motivation and ample opportunities to use the language, French is a beautiful language!

I speak a little French but too rusty and shy to use lah....


Tinkerbelle, how is the school councillor? Do you know of any students with special needs on either extreme of the spectrum that the school supports through extension?

I think funkymonkey might be able to tell you more about the councillor. Funkymonkey, are you around? Maybe you can drop her a PM?

I don't have any personal experiences with the sch councillor but I've heard that she's good from both DDs. Apparently, she's very approachable and helps students with special needs, counsels students with family issues and also resolves conflicts among students.

Hi Tinkerbelle,

The school councillor called and met us after the Orientation last Saturday. She was really nice but seemed to have more experiences dealing with special needs children. MY DD is not considered as a special needs child in the general sense, in fact MOE is working with the school to provide subject extension/acceleration for her as we didn't want her to enter P1 earlier. However in reality, she does have different needs which we were able to support in the private preschools but it's more rigid in the formal school system.

Wow, tats pretty fast (sch was pretty fast in putting up e results & u were pretty fast in replying to my query lor... )

MCS has improved compared to last yr's PSLE. Esp quality pass in Science. Not bad, not bad at all....

hmmm Chinese pass rate below national level by 2% pts. Although offset by lead of about 4% and 6% pts in maths and science over national level.

I just checked with one of the teacher, MCS Highest Aggregates is 265.
